MYSELF

Life is full of uncertainties but as human, you have the opportunity to have life in you,

consider it a precious thing. My life as a single mother has been a different and a difficult one but as a single parent, I took a pragmatic step by putting God first and cutting my Coat according to my size in other not to be found wanting. My name is Jennipher Asumado. I was born to Mr. and Mrs. Asumado on the 10th September 1986 in Goaso in the Ashante region of Ghana. I come from a nuclear family of Eleven of which I am the seventh born to my parents. I started my primary education in the year 1994 to the year 2000 respectively. After my primary education I proceeded to Darkuman one (1) junior High school in the year 2001 to 2004 respectively. After my junior High education, I couldn't continue to the High college due to financial constraint on the side of my parents, as a result of large family size. My parents couldn't afford combining home expenses and the payment of school fees for seven children at the time since my dad was only a simple company driver who used to earn less than ten dollars a day. While my mom was just a petty trader in cosmetics. Due to the hardship at home I had to discard my secondary education to support my mother in her cosmetics business. As time went by, I decided to find myself a petty business by selling oranges at the age of sixteen because that was the immediate job for every young girl at that time, in order to save some money to take care of my personal needs. I traded in oranges for about two years where I was able to save enough money to put myself in a beautician school by name FC beauty college in Accra of which I studied cosmetology in the year 2010. As matter of fact, I gave birth out of wedlock and became a mother of three at an early stage of my life which gave me more experience in child caring even though my mother was giving me a helping hand as to combing work and the raising of my children, but in a way, I was also eager to work as a Nanny due to my experience and love for children as well as to raise some money to support my children up keep. In the year 2012, I happened to find a job as a home Nanny in the house of a midwife who employed me to handle her four months baby to page way for her to work as a midwife. I worked for six months and I had to leave work because my employer decided to engage her mother to continue with the Nanny job to save her some money. In the same year, I got another job as a Nanny in a private home to handle a two weeks baby boy of which I did the following duties such as;

1. Feeding of the kids

2. Changing of diapers

3. Watching over them to play

4. Putting them to sleep

5. Doing Laundry

6. Preparing their food.

7. Entertaining the children for twelve months. I later left the job due to some misunderstanding that transpired between me and the maid of the house over pizza which my co-worker gave me the permission to pick from the fridge and eventually generated a verbal exchange between the maid and the other colleague. I left the private home Nanny job and proceeded to a school where I was employed as a music teacher due to my ability to sing and teach music in the church choir, as well as singing before an audience in a program, where I taught for three months in the year 2014. In August, the same year I left the school due to poor salary, whereby I was introduced to a lady who is a secretary at the Ghana National Association of teachers, who hired me to take care of her five months daughter to enable her have enough time for her job. I worked with her for two years of which I had to leave to cater for my mother because she was sick. In a nutshell, I had to stay with my mother for some time to make sure she has recovered fully. Afterwards I applied for a job as a caregiver in a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) by name Disability Needs Foundation where I worked for five months in the year 2020, of which I took the responsibilities such as:

1. giving a helping hand.

2. Giving Medication

Therefore, I vividly expect to have a first hand in working in a very good environment and having my own apartment with good atmosphere as well as having a reasonable salary to my satisfaction to be able to solve my family financial difficulties.
