ExxonMobil Corp – MOM to SCOM Migration and Reporting – Houston, TX

Sr. Technology Consultant

The world leading oil refining, and well-drilling company, ExxonMobil has become the global leader in oil production and delivery. I was engaged by Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) to demonstrate proven skill set on report migration.

MOM-to-SCOM Report Migration

System Centre Operation Management (SCOM) provides a high-level overview of events occurring on any of Exxon’s 7000+ PC assets. The existing MOM deployment was collecting data at a rate of 10GB/per day from any one of 5 collection points around the globe. The existing reporting suffered from poor performance due to improperly managed 2-TBs of data. SCOM was therefore seen as a better solution to properly manage and archive huge amounts of data. As the Snr. Developer on this 4-member team, we migrated legacy Business Objects reports to Crystal Reports in a timely manner. This enabled Snr. Managers high visibility into issues occurring within the organization and reduced the latency to react to such events
