At the Rutherford County Sheriff’s office, I was assigned to the SRO Division. My duties included the responsibility of maintaining safety at each school and ensuring a safe learning environment for students and staff. This was achieved by training emergency preparedness for staff and students, patrolling halls, writing citations and making arrests as needed and teaching classes as it relates to law enforcement. Additional responsibilities were coaching athletic activities and after school events, maintaining visibility in high traffic areas, working with community leaders to start new programs that involve students and staff in community projects, supervising extra duty at events after and during school, preparation of school safety plans, emergency evacuation plans, report suspected terrorist activities to state and federal authorities,

Elected Sheriff of White County, TN--- September 1998 to September 2002:

• Supervision of law enforcement agency of over 60 employees and $2.2 million dollar budget

• Oversaw public safety of White County, supervised and relayed technical information during construction of Criminal Justice Center, maintained records and evidence and brought the county sheriff’s office online with a booking computer system.

• Investigated double homicide and attempted murder case in 1992 considered to be the worst scene in the county's history, resulting in apprehension-arrest and subsequent prosecution of defendant receiving 2 life sentences no chance of parole plus 120 years.

• Investigated 285 child abuse cases in one month resulting in numerous arrests & member of the child protection investigation team.

• Assisted in numerous arson cases including many fire deaths,

1st shift supervisor---1995 to 1998:, in charge of all operations patrol including supervising court security and transporting inmates to and from court, doctor visits & state prisons. I supervised inmate work crews & was a firearms instructor.
