Furniture Assembly Technician
Dear Hiring Manager,
I recently submitted my application for the Furniture Assembly Technician position, along with my resume. I am also submitting this cover letter to highlight my personal experience with furniture assembly. I will be retiring at the end of April 2024 and look forward to starting a new career venture.
As per my resume, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology, and have been employed as a Construction General Superintendent for over 30 years.
Woodworking has been a hobby for me since I was in the 8th grade. I made a wooden rolling bar for my parents as a Christmas gift. In high school, I participated in a vocational woodworking program and placed 2nd place in a New York State Regional Cabinet Making completion.
As a homeowner, I take pride in my “do-it-yourself-projects”. I completely renovated my first home, which included a room addition, installation of a new kitchen and the design and refinishing of the basement.
I designed my present home and built the concrete foundation. I installed a 6' diameter oak spiral staircase between the first floor and the second floor, which included installing glue laminated beams to support a catwalk leading from the second floor hall to the staircase. I then wrapped the beams with raised oak panels. I also installed landscape lighting and a well water storage system called a “Well Manager”on my property.
I have assembled multiple pieces of furniture over my lifetime. I look forward to applying my skills to assembling furniture for your company.
When I saw this job posted online, I just knew this would be a perfect fit for us both.
I believe you will find me to be an enthusiastic person who understands the importance of providing good customer service. Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Paul S. Duarte
