Doctor of Human Science ( Dr.Sc.Hum) In Health Economics with a Magna cum Laude The impact of community health insurance schemes on household expenditures, catastrophic health expenditures and poverty. The thesis is Focusing on the economic impact of a community health insurance in Africa, mainly in Burkina Faso and the impact of health expenditures on households.

The analysis was performed on households’ survey data in Nouna for three consecutive years.

The methodology was combining econometric modeling techniques and qualitative tools.

The qualitative arm of the research was to investigate household perceptions and coping strategies regarding health expenditures.

The research project is conjured with the Institute of tropical medicine and hygiene in Germany and the Centre de Recherches in Burkina Faso.

The course work was followed by a thesis, of a 150 pages as a result of an original qualitative field research in a developing country, Egypt.

As the second stage of the project, the main tasks were to help NGOs build consensus collectively towards certain issues related to the enhancement of women position in Egypt, through workshops seminar, advocacy material, and a lot of coordination.

To reach this consensus, a situation analysis was done, and several research priorities where identified then research was carried out (Six research in different areas of interest such as maternal health service delivery, perceptions of violence against women between decision makers, equality before law regarding women,… and others).

The Job at this stage was to give advice on the development of research protocols build a solid research team and follow up on all research related activities and finally organize a seminar for the presentation of the results.

The job required a lot of skills regarding communication, rapport with people, identification of needs and negotiating skills.
