Vann Cunningham Internship 2023

-Performed work under the Anthropology Department alongside professors to better department functions within the curation facility and case procedures

-Work duties included NAGRPA repatriation, collection management, photography, analysis of documentation, organizational tasks, and environmental data collection, utilized multiple database systems to track data, gained knowledge of regulatory requirements for department, performed routine assistance to superiors in bookkeeping

-Helped Host and facilitate Paleo Skills workshop hosted by UTC’s Anth department, managed department time set up, educational hands-on activities and program implementation for department

-Performed clerical duties under department head that involved reviewing performance issues for JBIA curation repository through underlying administrative concepts, and labor-related matters, provided program guidance for department and guidance to first and second-year peers for future educational endeavors

Rollins College of Business Italy Study Abroad 2022

-Traveled with the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga to Florence, Milan, and Venice, Italy for International Business Experience Graduate course

-Was able to gain a unique beneficial exposure to Italy’s common customs, business transactions, traditions, norms and values, was able to gain a far different perspective of applying anthropological methods to a community in person

-Transferable traits gained throughout this study abroad experience included sharpening my problem-solving abilities, being able to adapt to a new environment, bettering my communication skills, gaining a good sense of flexibility and time management, and broadening my deeply appreciated understanding of the differences one culture has from another and how these differences shape who we are

-During our trip we were fortunate enough to attend many business meetings which allowed me to develop excellent cross-cultural communication skills and educate myself with international business standards, rules, and regulations.

Southeastern Archaeological Conference 2023

-Volunteered at national archaeological conference hosted by Chattanooga

-Served as a session coordinator, conference implementation, and registration volunteer at 2023 SEAC

-Helped organize the national conference and prepare day-by-day tasks and duties for individual volunteers, oversaw multiple panels to ensure best possible performance and delivery of discussions, outlined and arranged conference introductions and conference registration for speakers and general public, oversaw registration and attendance for gala hosted at the Hunter Art Museum alongside professors of Anthropology Department
