Intern - Civil Hospital Karachi, Pakistan
I covered both in-patient and out-patient services while rotating among the departments of internal medicine, psychiatry, general surgery, and ophthalmology throughout my internship. After consulting with the attending, my duties included gathering pertinent medical information, performing a physical exam, ordering labs and imaging, writing patient notes, and managing every aspect of the patient. I've got the chance to work in an intensive care unit. To expose students to trauma management and the acute presentation of chronic diseases, all interns must do a fifteen-day emergency department rotation as a requirement. I participated in scrubbing and assisting consultants in surgeries and performing minor procedures. I had five to seven patients on my daily schedule in addition to attending grand rounds and weekly conferences.

I participated in various WHO anti-polio campaigns as a volunteer. In order to distribute polio drops, I went door to door. informed the parents of the value of the polio vaccine.

Volunteer - Flood Relief Campaign, Shahdadkot, Pakistan
Our small-town experienced flooding during a wet season, and many people contracted water-borne illnesses like cholera, diarrhea, and Rotavirus. I contributed my time and worked collaboratively. I was given the responsibility of taking care of the patients who had water-borne illnesses and informing them of the value of sanitation and water chlorination. We gathered flood relief funds and gave them to flood victims, along with food, water, and clothing.
