Senior Economic Analyst - As member of ORNL’s Energy Analysis Group, I investigated a broad range of topics related to energy systems and energy policy from the perspectives of market efficiency and energy security. Worked in a multidisciplinary team with a focus on forecasting and market analysis.

•Served as Project Lead for a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) supported effort to forecast crude oil prices. Used Excel, R-Studio, PowerShell and Limdep (statistical software). Results were used by the U.S. government as auction reserve prices for U.S. SPR crude oil purchases and sales valued over one billion dollars.

•Using Access and Excel, created and maintained a database of over 1000 crude oil assays. Assays were collected, reconciled, and missing properties were estimated using petroleum industry standard methods.

•Using models created in-house and @Risk simulation software, performed the Benefit Cost Analysis for DOE’s Long-Term Strategic Review of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. The report resulted in over $1B in capital expenditure.

•Using GAMS, forecasted future vehicle and energy markets for DOE and evaluated the effects of policy choices.
