Professional Profile

In my 10 years of experience with power lines, I have had the fortune to operate a multitude of heavy equipment. My first experience with heavy equipment was with Southeast Power Corp using front loaders and cranes to assemble increments of steel poles totaling 120 - 180 ft in height and weighing 4 - 20 Tons. I then furthered my experience with T&D Solutions in construction and maintenance of power lines. I then honed in my skills at AEP by joining a brand new power line construction crew servicing all of South Texas. This crew is where I acquired the majority of my heavy equipment skills. Here I became the go-to operator for technical and critical lifts. I was the primary lineman for in-house training and assessment on all heavy equipment for apprentice linemen in our area. I am confident in my skills of reading load charts and understanding the limits of the various equipment I am entrusted to maintain.

Relevant Work Experience:

Bechtel Construction- (May 2023 to Dec 2023) – Safe and controlled operation of the 75,100 Ton Tadano RT and Grove 8100 RT.

Kiewit Offshore Services (Nov 2022 to May 2023 - Crane operator of the telescopic 80 - 100T RT, (Tadano, Grove, and Terex).

American Electric Power (Feb 2014 to Oct 2022) – This is where I finally gained my national crane certification (NCCCO-TLL) and though recently renewed I have been certified for the last 7 years. I was hired with AEP to the only new construction crew for transmission lines in Texas. We have completed many projects including new construction and maintenance of transmission lines and substations, storm restoration jobs, and assisting various maintenance and substation crews when our workload allowed. I also handled the field assessments of new hires or newly certified coworkers on all heavy equipment. From front loader, bulldozer pulling rigs, skid steer, backhoe, and bucket truck to the various sized cranes.

Transmission and Distribution Solutions (May 2013 to Nov 2013) – At first I worked with a crew replacing wood poles with concrete poles, changing out all the hardware and running new wire on a 69kv line. The company then transferred me to a maintenance crew that needed my qualifications. Our crew replaced insulators and hardware wherever and whenever it was needed.

Southeast Power Corporation (July 2012 to May 2013) – I was an Apprentice Lineman for Southeast Power Corporation during a 110 mile steel pole project in Texas. I started on the pressing and framing crew and progressed to stacking poles, hanging insulators and dollies, running ropes followed by double bundle 1590 wire. We clipped conductor from the crane basket, clipped static wire from the helicopter longline and spaced the conductor bundle from a buggy.
