Project submitted for the completion of Under Professional Graduation (B. Tech) titled “Detecting and Removing phishing webpage’s using PShark” (Java&J2EE).

Abstract:

Phishing is an online scam used to dupe people out of their personal information for the purpose of defrauding them.

This paper presents a conceptual design for removing phishing pages that have been uploaded on a website, potentially without knowledge of the website owner or host server.

Initially the system is alerted to the presence of a phishing page upon receiving the Phisher’s solicitation e-mail. Next the system retrieves the location, IP address and contact information of the host server using a tracking program.

Finally, the system sends notification to the Administrator about the phishing page on its server. It is then up to the host server Administrator to remove the phishing page from its server, or face the possibility of criminals continuing to use their site.

This approach acts as the basis for further development into proactively (or aggressively) attacking Phishers directly, rather than being a reactionary approach that is common to most email filters and anti-virus software.

Project Involved in PG:

Project submitted for the completion of Under Post Graduation (MBA) entitled “Training and development of human resource in customs excise and preventive service (CEPS) in INDIA”.

Abstract:

This study investigated the training and development practices at CEPS. The study aimed at finding out the nature of training and development policy of CEPS, the knowledge and level of awareness of the training and development policy among CEPS officers.

The study adopted the survey for research method. Both qualitative and quantitative techniques were applied; the quantitative technique involved a questionnaire survey of in the CEPS officials whilst the qualitative technique involved an interview with Assistant Commissioner-Training and in Chief Collector-Administration and Human Resources at CEPS headquarters.

The study revealed that CEPS has a training and in development policy. It further revealed that the policy is adequate in content and the awareness of the training and development policy among the CEPS officials was high. It was also discovered that the current training and development practices, processes and procedures at CEPS were not at variance with the provisions of the policy and best practices of training and development but that the budgetary allocation for training was the key challenge in implementing the training and career development at CEPS.

The study recommended among others the need for CEPS to urgently ensure the total implementation of its training and development policy to enhance the job skills of the staff for improved performance.
