I come from a family where ancient art forms are respected and preserved with utmost are reverence. From the childhood, I have received education about art, culture, music and dance that further shaped my life and my profession. In my exuberant career, I have performed around 200 stage performances of folk art. Some of my distinctive performances were at Sangeet Natak Academy, SPIC MACAY, Haryana Kala Parishad and many recognized societies. My performance at International Theatre Festival BHARANGAM organized by National School of Drama, International Convention of SPIC MACY in IIT Mumbai got me lots of laurels and accolades for promoting this dying Art form SWANG. To revive this art form, I formed a troupe with my partner Dr. Satish Kashyap. We both became disciples of Pandit Suraj Bhan Shashtri of renowned Lakhmi Chand Gharana.

Gharana is a system of social organization associating many musicians or dancers by lineage or apprenticeship to a particular musical style. Lakhmi Chand Gharana was established by Pandit Lakhmi Chand who was also known as Surya Kavi (Sun Poet). He mastered the art of Raagni and SWANG to entertain people as well to give message of living a good lifestyle. My latest productions are ‘Gopi Uddhav’, ‘Padmavat- Ranveer’, ‘Kichak-Draupadi’ ‘Heer-Ranjha’ Chanderkiran, Shiv Parvati, Veer Barbreek, Raja Nahar Singh, Meera Bai etc.

International Exposure: I have performed in the International theatre Olympics in India and International Theatre festival – Bharat Rang Mohatsav in India.

Experience apart from Swang: Presently, I am designated as Senior Assistant Professor of Culture in Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar and contributing in the research and development of Haryana Folklore and Culture as well as Music and Dramatics section.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

This art form not only gave us the opportunity to showcase our talent but also gave us the voice to propel new forms of artistic expression. We characterized extravagant theatrics, infectiously energetic music and dance combining both folklore and mythological excerpts. We aim to bring the essence of folklore in the contemporary society to preach the meaning of life and art of living. Throughout my career, I have received immense honors and recognitions for promoting SWANG art. Below are some of my laurels:
