Controls Design Engineer (Direct)

Responsible for design and debug of software for North America’s largest supplier of automated coolant filters. Our customers were primarily automotive – GM, Ford, Nissan. Programmed Allen-Bradley PLCs (MicroLogix1400 and CompactLogix) and touchscreens (PanelViewPlus6), Siemens PLC’s (Step7 v5.5 and TIA) and Siemens screens (WinCC Flex 2008 and TIA), Telemechanique PLCs and screens, and Omron PLCs and screens. Many programs and screens written from scratch. Programmed various VFD’s. Supported field service engineers and did some travel to customer’s plant as required. Used some AutoCAD for electrical drawings to assist electrical hardware engineers if they were overloaded.

Software Controls Design Engineer (Direct)

Responsible for design and debug of software of control systems for industrial heat treat vacuum furnaces. Among the technologies used are Allen-Bradley SLC and ControlLogix PLC’s, AutomationDirect PLC’s, and Wonderware and InteractX PC-based touch screens. I take job satisfaction in working well with project management and electrical hardware and mechanical groups and getting the job done right – on time and on budget with minimal bugs to fix at start-up.

Schematic generation using AutoCAD and bills of material.
