Inspection Responsibilities:

Monitor the activities are performed as per project specifications and Inspection Test plan (ITP), at the job site, follow-up and implementation of approved ITP.

Receiving Inspection of consumable materials (electrodes & filler rods)

Inspection of received piping material for visible damages & conformity to mill certificates, maintain documentation and traceability of the material.

Identifying the material (pipes, flanges, fittings etc.) as per the material list and approved isometric drawings during fabrication.

Review of the welding procedure specification (WPS) and procedure qualification record (PQR) as per specifications before start of welding activity.

Verification of welding process, welder and consumables as per approved WPS & conduct visual inspection on welded joints.

Inspection of pipe spool marking, pipe cutting, and joint fit-up as per approved construction drawings, WPS joint details and ASME B31.1

Verify isometric piping drawings for work have been reviewed & approved

Welding consumable control (storage, handling, baking, re baking, issue & conditioning)

Verify welder have been issued job clearance card, and that range of qualification shown matches the application of WPS being used.

Checking validities of welding equipment’s.

Checking pre-heat requirements on weld joints as per approved WPS & code requirements.

Verification of dimension fit up and welds preparation as per approved WPS.

Inspection of pneumatic testing of reinforcing pads covering pressure containing welds

Selecting weld joints for NDE as per project specifications.

Witnessing & evaluate all NDT activities & ensure required NDT, PWHT, PMI, hardness and reinforcement pad pneumatic test has been performed prior to final system pressure testing.

Witnessing repair welding activities followed with NDE method.

Witnessing all cut out joints, advice and coordinate NDT and construction team for respective requirement.
