Work Experience

1.Driver at Medical Teams International (MTI-Adjumani) 2017 up to date

Roles and responsibilities

•Facilitating program staffs to the field and other authorized destinations.

•Collecting and delivering correspondence from & to other offices as requested by Management.

•Drive vehicle for official travel and business, or as requested by Representative

•Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations.

•Ensure that safe driving practices are adhered to including local driving codes and internally agreed standards.

•Ensure vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times

•Ensure vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, etc

•Ensure vehicle repairs are carried out properly by official manufacturer’s specifications

•Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs, prepare vehicle spare parts

•Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring report, including records of vehicle operations, Maintenance, expenses, mileage, at end of each month

Duties and Responsibilities included

•Moving staff to and from destinations within Kampala, upcountry or even beyond boarders, as and when need arises.

•Coordination with the medical team on emergency pickups including patient lifting, first aid.

•Issuing reminders to administration on renewal of Motor vehicle insurance and other statutory Licenses, PMO, etc.

•Daily vehicle inspection – as per the checklist provided in the motor vehicles.

•Maintaining cleanliness of a motor vehicle (interior and exterior), whenever on duty.

•Monitoring of fuel consumption and reporting back anomalies.

•Ensuring the vehicles are kept neat, tidy and welcoming environment

•Replacing supplies and disposable items on ambulances making sure that they are always fully stocked before making an emergency call.

• Administering first aid (e.g. bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen), as needed; usually in-support of attending medical team.

• Reporting facts concerning accident or emergency to hospital personnel or law enforcement officials, as needed.

• Maintenance of mechanical tools (Jack, rods, Spanners) and ensuring their safe custody.

• Ensuring that sirens and lights are used at the right times and places.

• Maintaining all the equipment in transport custody including computers, under proper working conditions.

• Checking on oxygen in ambulances and informing the biomedical department when out of stock.

• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving when dealing with complex situations occurring on regular basis.

• Answering the emergency phones whenever on duty as per agreed protocol.

4. DRIVER. Comtran Engineering Driver 2008 to 2010

Duties and Responsibilities includes

• Ensure the vehicle is in a clean condition to reflect the image of the organization.

• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations & ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition

• Identifying mechanical faults and any other defects on the vehicle and report immediately to the senior driver.

• Conducting daily condition checks on the vehicle on the following to ensure that oil is at correct Level and arrange to requisition oil as necessary.

• Check that all lights, indicators and windscreen wipers are in working order.

• Ensure at all times that the vehicle is securely locked for the safety of company tools and other Properties in custody of the driver.

• Ensure staffs have written authority before use of the vehicle on private journeys or errands.

• Completing on a daily basis the motor vehicle utilization log book and submit it on a regular basis.

Ensure that all fuel issues are recorded against the correct vehicle number.

• Monitors the expiry of third-party license and warn the Officer in charge 45 days in advance.

• Verifying that all damaged parts are replaced when vehicle is repaired or serviced.

• Ensure that policies and procedures are complied with including staff using vehicles
