PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Efficient civil engineer/project management Expert with more than 35 years of experience in managing the design, and delivery of infrastructure and construction large projects (such as roadways, railway platforms, facilities, buildings… ), training (such as Vocational Training and curricula preparation) with extensive technical, administrative, and operations management experience. Expertise in managing day-to-day operational aspects of any project and project scope by effectively applying methodologies that enforce project standards and by minimizing exposure and risks on projects; supervising the execution of project work plans and revision as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, including the identification of needed resources and assignments to appropriate personnel.
Experienced in leading all functions of construction project management including planning, designing, processing, specs-approvals, managing staff, supervising sub-contractors, budgeting, scheduling, progress reporting, and timely completion of projects. Possess excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, establishing and maintaining loyal customer relationships; Very flexible, and able to adapt quickly to the high-pressured environment, build key relationships and collaborate with high-performance teams to meet/exceed corporate objectives.
Mr. Kalai is multicultural-sensitive and has been exposed to and worked in various locations worldwide always preserving great gender balance, inclusive work mainly for people with special need and contributed to many peace building initiatives such as in Libya by taking the lead on the construction of the HQ of the High National Election Commission (HNEC), or in Tunisia by closing the refugees' camp and lobbying for the integration and settlement of refugees, or in Haiti by working in the most controversial food for work initiative or in South Lebanon to lead on a recovery project after the July 6th war between Israel and Lebanon and so, the Vocational Training Construction Sector Program has allowed to train Lebanese youth and enabled them to build the destructed cities in the south of the country.
Mr. Kalai served under United Nation (UN), African Development Bank (AfDB), United States Agency for International Development(USAID), European Union (EU), Germain Development (KfW) funded Projects and he is familiar with their rules and regulations including Contracting Management, project supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation and Interim reporting.
