Professional Summary

Operations Management and Quality Assurance Expert with over a combined total of 13 years of experience in the Healthcare operations management and quality assurance aspects throughout each of my past career’s working experiences. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to have worked in a few different capacities in both the commercial industry and private sector,

Transportation operations management and quality assurance, Real Property Taxation and Assessment operations management and quality assurance responsibilities conducted by all Department members by requiring all team members total of 10 full time salaried Real Property appraisers to use analysis and investigation of quality sales trends in the real estate market as it related to the sales of property in individual neighborhoods throughout the city in comparison to other comparable properties and sales of similar properties in any particular area of the city determined by the age, quality and condition of the properties being reviewed for taxation and assessment purposes. As part of our Quality Assurance responsibilities as a Real Property Appraiser all appraisers were then required to attend the annual review board hearings to dispute appeals filed by numerous city and neighborhood residents all Board Appeal Hearings are led by the City of Alexandria, VA Finance Department Chief which further assisted in ensuring the various issues were reviewed and reversed or were set as final determinations which further illustrates how my QA skills using analysis and investigation techniques to identify quality trends directly relates to the QA Specialist position currently being advertised .

Additional experience in Retail operations, managed a staff of 35 FTE hourly associates, and Retail Quality Assurance are where I worked in a designer name brand clothing retail outlet mall location my past experiences there as it relates to the current QA specialist position advertised would be similar in the aspects of creating and revising SOPs as it relates employee policies within our store as it relates to attendance, and counseling issues relating to work performance. Additionally, there are similarities in the aspects of Inventory Control measures we had in place also monitoring operations was one of the most important responsibilities of the job because it required being involved in all aspects of the store, working in the front of the house, (FOH) which dealt primarily with the customers and managing the sales floor and monitoring valuable merchandise on sales floor and a the same time it required monitoring operations occurring at the back of the house, (BOH) which dealt more with receiving shipments and deliveries and the space management aspect which included storing inventory received in a limited available amount of space which required me to exhibit strong space management skills. Many times the same space management in place for received items would have to be cleared out of the room or onto the sales floor during non-business hours in order to complete the established SOP for preparing received inventory which had to be placed out on to the sales floor, which very similar to the EVS SOPs used in Healthcare the retail industry also follows the use of SOP’s in regards to all aspects of the store from FOH to BOH. All associates were trained on our SOP’s, and they were reviewed and revised when changes needed to occur. The stores inventory was worth millions of dollars’ worth of merchandise located inside of our store which had to be accounted for daily at the start and end of each day’s business operations. With that said which included the training of all lead hourly and all hourly associates as well on customer satisfaction policies, sales policies, cash register training, merchandising, sales techniques and coaching as well as ensuring that the hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly sales goals are not only met on a consistent basis however that they are surpassed and was also responsible for conducting analysis regarding sales data and using investigation of sales reports to identify quality trends within sales reports and information being communicated back to Corporate as fashion trends typically tend to fluctuate based on many different factors. Quality sales trends identified were listed in monthly sales reports sent to Regional Director and Sales Director. Contributed to the monthly reports by identifying trends and submitting final sales earnings in reports used to update Corporate who in turn would communicate current supply chain logistics situations and updates from warehouse inventory. I was also partially responsible with my General Manager for monitoring all warehouse shipments to retail locations including the delivery of multiple deliveries of, shipped items received, monitoring and reporting shipment of items sent back to warehouse or items rejected by store manager due to missing, damaged, stolen, lost items all to be included on monthly reports. Also was responsible for all loss prevention measures and monitoring of CCTV security recording systems as well as worked closely with local Shopping Center Security Administration and Local law enforcement when issues of theft were required to be reported and/ or individuals prosecuted by the law, was responsible for implementing company directives on site in my retail location regarding the corporate directives and styles provided to Polo Ralph Lauren Brand Quality Assurance Ambassadors in the store who would include all General Managers and Store Managers, merchandising, sales goals of $3 million dollars were set by Corporate and our initial goal was surpassed with an annual revenue for the grand opening of, and space management and inventory management at various Ralph Lauren Polo retail store locations in the DMV Region and Quality Assurance Retail experience with on-site facility and merchandising inspections conducted by Regional Managers and Ralph Lauren Corporate Sales Director and Corporate Marketing Director as well as being responsible for submitting monthly reports to corporate HQ, also attended and completed the Ralph Lauren Operations Manager Training Seminar.

Within my past personal career experiences which I have listed, I feel they strongly demonstrate that I have a multifaceted variety of Operational and Quality Assurance experience across multiple industries. With the vast array of my broad varying industry experiences, I believe that this enables me to have a more open-minded approach to ensuring that Quality Assurance goals for our QA Team would be met with great success daily.

Through my own personal EVS industry experience I have had the luxury of ensuring that all my operational responsibilities are constantly met on a daily basis and through weekly follow-up departmental and pre-weekend meetings from QA team that in which I have demonstrated in these follow-up meetings that I have a strong understanding of the full scope of all roles and responsibilities of QA Specialist in addition to any other requests or tasks for which would be assigned to me directly or others that my Supervisor would ask of ne in assisting others on our QA Team. I believe that this type of team-work ensures the most positive and productive type of environment at work and is a type of work place culture that I am excited to participate in and be a part of every day and by all team members working together harmoniously and effortlessly we can ensure a greater success of our department and our organization and most importantly serving the NIH Patient which is the true mantra and calling of the most enthused and passionate of NIH health care workers we all strive day in and day out to ensure that the needs of our Patients are always our utmost and important priority.

I am certain that I would be able to successful in meeting the QA Specialist tasks which will be required of me, which are: creating and revising SOP’s, monitoring and managing some but not all aspects of the supply stock pile inventory or Supply chain investigation regarding supply shortages or shipping delays, or providing assistance with solving any unforeseen supply chain issues which could affect NIH, CC MMESD functions or MMESD Healthcare operations. Always being excited and willing to assist with any of our MMESD inventory needs or situations which could arise at the NIH, CC by successfully demonstrating strong inventory control measures such as inventory logs, email records of requests and completing documented follow-up on these special requests as well as ensuring that many of current inventory control systems currently in place and current SOP’s currently in use now throughout the MMESD Dept. with the ability to manage all previously mentioned facets of the QA Specialist key functions and key role of the QA team’s tasks as a whole while still maintaining a firm focus on EVS practices and policies on a daily basis ensuring that their being met with an acceptable and always requiring the EVS Healthcare government contractor to meet all EVS related requests with a High Level of Quality throughout all areas of the NIH, CC with the most focus of importance focused on attention to detail and ensuring that the cleaning completed is that of a high level of quality in all severely critical areas throughout the NIH, CC which are all of the level IV and level V areas of the facility which are specifically outlined in the PWS.

An example of the current inventory controls in place and how they could be improved upon from an EVS Dept. perspective would be if more aggressive inventory controls were in place as opposed to what is currently in place and if were to hold more credence in terms of the accountability placed on the specific individual EVS Associates who may be misusing or improper storage of EVS housekeeping items to include plastic bags, paper products and mops and brooms. Using a more stringent inventory control such as the designation of items at start of shift should be followed up on again at the end of the shift to compare the actual amount of supplies etc. associates are truly using that shift that day, it does not allow the opportunity to the associate to take the items from their cart or store them improperly and violate the NIH SOPs regarding the storage of items such as these. This example of an inventory control improvement could ultimately improve and streamline the current process in which EVS associates are currently able to display potential practices such as these, making an improvement to many of the different aspects in which Sop’s are based and how the EVS team is implementing these policies is a kay factor in the overall success of the QA Team at NIH within the MMESD Department. I would not declare that this is a quality trend overall yet but its only an example of how my QA abilities could assist in improving overall processes of many EVS associates and to assist in ensuring that they are not misusing or misappropriating Government owned items such as supplies, trash bags, materials, chemicals, tools, machines, MPW Boxes, etc. and that the inventory of these items with proper inventory control when being implemented by all EVS Supervisors as it relates to the distribution of these items and as it relates to the proper storage of these items as well. If this was improved upon the instances mentioned would see a high improvement rate in all areas of NIH, CC.

Throughout all my past working interactions with QA specialists I have demonstrated that I have completed many of their verbal or written requests without incident on a daily/weekly basis when personally asked to do so. If I was the selected candidate for this position. I believe that I have been able to improve my personal understanding and skills as they relate to being a QA Specialist in the time for which I have worked at NIH with JJWWS. I have demonstrated that I possess the skills of what it truly takes to be a successful and efficient Quality Assurance Specialist. I truly believe that all my past experiences especially within the EVS Dept. here at NIH would enable me to be a versatile asset to any team, EVS or QA. I have proven through my leadership abilities that I can constantly adapt to new environments and changes that may quickly occur in the ever-changing healthcare environment, as it relates to many types of situations encountered in the Hospital facility with an extremely strong understanding of all EVS disinfection processes utilized at the NIH, CC. I truly believe that through my past leadership contributions on both EVS teams I have been a part of here at NIH, two separate contractors that the through the hard work I have exhibited in my time working here with individuals from all cultural backgrounds and ethnicities and orientations within my own department as well as all others here at the NIH I have enjoyed meeting and helping so many different people from all over the world, It has been a truly rewarding experience as a contractor and I would want to still continue doing what I have always done for all patients we serve and for whom we encounter on a daily basis. I would very much enjoy being a part of the NIH community for the rest of my career and wish to retire here with the great, hardworking NIH community. In my time at NIH, CC and with other past jobs I had I have had encountered many different people from all cultures and varying ethnic and religious backgrounds my many different experiences in these various past industries which have only enabled me to have an innate ability to demonstrate many different complex problem-solving skills.

Eight years of sole EVS Operations experience has enabled me to conduct many qualities of the QA specialist position by enabling me to learn about the PWS and displayed contract understanding learning much about all aspects of Union and CBA Policies and Regulations which were correctly adhered to by the Administrations I was a personally a part of only ensuring that the government regulations set forth by all Joint Commission standards were being met and surpassed with great success throughout my years of service with the NIH EVS Dept. I have personally been a team member of two separate Joint Commission inspection surveys which were both successful and both of which were working with two different Private Healthcare EVS Organizations, and both were located working at the NIH, CC. The past EVS Government Contractor I ever worked with at NIH, CC was Crothall Healthcare who Successfully passed the JACHO Survey in 2016, after working with Crothall Healthcare I left the NIH, CC to pursue other personal career goals at that time it was the year 2016. As of recently I returned to the NIH, CC in the year 2021, and obtained employment with the new EVS Healthcare Organization, J&J Worldwide Services who also Successfully passed the JACHO Survey in 2021.

In the entire duration of the time, I have spent working with two separate government healthcare contractors I never personally experienced any contractual setbacks, or defaults or was never not successful passing any Federal, State, Local, interdepartmental or OSHA, Safety inspections or requirements due to any negligence or mishandling of monitoring operations from myself or from any of my direct leadership either at the interdepartmental or corporate levels.

One of my proudest accomplishments which I have received while working at the NIH, CC was in January of 2016 when a huge blizzard hit the entire region, it was at this time I was scheduled as an evening weekend supervisor who unknowingly was not aware that I would be unable to leave the NIH, CC for an entire three days and two nights for which me and my 20 hourly EVS associates were stuck at the clinical center for the duration sleeping on emergency cots, ensuring that we all took turns fairly distributing the workload of the hospital clinical center working our 3 shifts of the day as three teams of 6-7 associates working together as a means of success each group resorted to “Team-Cleaning” in which we all assisted each other and worked together to visit each inpatient unit throughout the entire building during each of our shifts as well as addressing the unforeseen calls or circumstances which unexpectedly arose throughout the entire ordeal. Unfortunately, several associates had come to work for their shift ill-prepared with not enough food or changes of clothes to last this number of days. Fortunately because I was able to utilize my complex problem solving abilities and through the great success I had been demonstrating throughout the entire situation over the days that I was successfully able to monitor operations which still needed to be covered the entirety of the days and nights which I was forced to be on duty non-stop for 24 hours a day still answering phone calls, email requests, all the while still responding back to pager requests and communicating throughout all shifts day and night with the NIH Page Operator to handle the requests from the nursing staff throughout the patient care inpatient units. Arranging meal vouchers for all EVS associates with the cafeteria manager to ensure that all EVS staff were provided three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All of the EVS staff were very unprepared planning to only work one shift not knowing that the current blizzard conditions would keep them stranded at NIH, CC for days on end. I was able to single handedly run the entire EVS Department with a group of 20 hourly associates who for these 3 days came together unlike any team we had ever been a part of working tirelessly through the hard days and nights with understanding that we were all there for the same reason, which was to ensure that the Patient was taken care of and comfortable throughout the entire ordeal, no matter what the other circumstances are we must remain steadfast and dedicated to the patients best and most safe care for all to experience at the very unique and special NIH, CC. Our team demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work through out that entire period. Once we were finally able to make it back home, we were all left with an unforgettable weekend NIH EVS experience that none of us are surely ever to forget for the rest of our lives.

As an EVS Supervisor and as an EVS Administrator I adhered to the EVS standards and requirements set forth by the PWS being met an acceptable rate for many years within the terms and lengths set forth by the EVS Dept. contract. I personally administered and ensured that inter-departmental Supervisor Training was conducted annually, planned and administered hourly EVS associate trainings and corrective trainings monthly or on an as needed basis to all employees, assisted with overall EVS and project management of entire EVS Healthcare operation on 3 shifts which is a 24 hour a day operation with approximately 165 hourly EVS Associates on all shifts combined, within a 1,000,000 sq. ft. facility that includes two buildings combined within my area of responsibility, which houses a total of 200 inpatient beds as well as 93 day hospital stations, a specialized hazardous bio-containment unit, 12 operating rooms, as well as countless laboratories, public gathering and dining areas as well as the exterior of the building at the basement loading dock which handles all waste disposal for the entire building. I have assisted and personally overseen all aspects of the EVS Healthcare operation at NIH working with J&J worldwide Services as it relates to the total planning, managing, directing, supervising, and monitoring operations for EVS to include all aspects of EVS Department in accordance with successful contract management per the past and current PWS in the NIH EVS Dept. I personally ensured direct oversight and met all requirements in accordance with the expectations and standards set forth by the previous Government COR Mr. Rob Mekelburg and with the current Government COR, Ms. Tsehai Crockett, and Government QA team in accordance with the PWS and met it with great success. Personal experience with oversight of the Healthcare Environmental Services Operations At the National Institute of Health Clinical Research Center, NIH, CC. includes all aspects of administrative responsibility having worked as the, Weekday/ weekend Supervisor on morning and the evening shifts, additional EVS administrative experience includes working in the Lead Supervisor role, working in the Quality Control Manager role and am currently working as the Senior Assistant Director for the current healthcare EVS Dept. contractor working at the NIH, CC. Harnessed experience provided EVS Healthcare Operations oversight with two separate Government Contractor private healthcare organizations in which I was personally involved with almost all aspects from start to end of all processes including the creation and revision of an array of SOP’s as it relates to EVS Operations and many different aspects of disinfection as it relates to the many varying degrees of patient isolation classifications used at the NIH, CC. In addition, assisted with the direct operational oversight of all inventory control as it relates to the ordering, distribution management, inventory control and accountability of all Supplies, to include, chemicals, cleaning tools, cleaning machines, with daily operational oversight as it relates to the safe and proper usage of machines and equipment daily with a requirement to report all unsafe or not working equipment for repair and periodical maintenance. Assisted in the EVS healthcare operations oversight of the space management aspect of PWS with two different areas of assignment per the PWS, In my past experience working in the Quality Control Manger’s position with J&J Worldwide Services, I was truly able to harness all of my past years of experience as a successful EVS Healthcare operations supervisor and use my new role as a catalyst to truly allow me the ability to tremendously improve all of my abilities to conduct in depth analysis through the use of EVS operations data available to perform my due diligence and conduct an investigation of quality trends, and establishing what the new quality trends are each week and each month, as well as reviewing past trends and establishing what the most successful plan of action would be to address any deficiencies that are becoming a clear trend within the departmental findings as it relates to all aspects of the entire inspection and investigation findings are on a reoccurring calendar basis in which all results are reported to J&J corporate headquarters to be reviewed as well as the Government Agency for whom we serve which is the Department of Health and Human Services Materials Management and Environmental Services Department. which is performed by reviewing and analyzing Government QA daily inspections data combined with, J&J Monthly QC reports, in addition to the information obtained from the Government quality patient care rounds and visits with customers providing their constructive feedback, which are all clear demonstrations through the use of relevant examples as to the reasons why I should be considered to be a very strong and suitable candidate for the Quality Assurance Specialist with the Department of Health and Human Services at the National Institutes of Health working in the Clinical Center, Materials Management and Environmental Services Department.
