Established a shop selling groceries in Yundum with a startup Capital of approximately USD 200. Grew this to total assets of USD 10,000 by 2013. Recorded average monthly sales of USD 11,000. Opened a second shop in 2006 in Banjulunding, Gambia employing one shopkeeper (family member) with an opening capital of approximately USD 500. This shop also grew to total asset size of USD 10,000 in three years. A third shop was opened in Yundum with a starting capital of USD 1,000 in 2014. This shop also grew to a total asset size of USD 4,500.

1996 – 2003 Hotel Vegetable Supplier

Started a business to supply Senegambia Beach Hotel – A 4 Star Hotel in Gambia – with fresh locally grown vegetables. Travelled in the Southern and Eastern regions of Gambia and South Senegal to select high quality vegetables from growers and purchasing them to meet the hotel’s high quality fresh vegetable demand.

Selling wholesale and retail grocery items to market women in Brikama in a shop with daily sales of over USD 2,500.
