Born, raised, and educated in Latvia. The majority of the time spent in Latvia was while Latvia was part of the Soviet Union, with Russian being one of the state languages.

LI 2: A minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching adult learners the foreign language they will be providing to FSI in a classroom setting (2 or more students).

LI 3: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience teaching adult learners the foreign language they will be providing to FSI in a classroom setting (2 or more students).

Over 20 years’ experience teaching Russian and Latvian to adults and children in group and one-on-one settings/classes.

LI 2: BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD., or foreign equivalent degree(s) in any field.

LI 3: MA/MS or Ph.D., or foreign equivalent degree in relevant language education field with demonstrated expertise through experience or publications in one or more of the qualifications required for language instruction at FSI (i.e., curriculum development, proficiency assessment, task-based teaching and learning, adult language learning, educational technology in FLE, etc.)

LI 2 and LI 3: A minimum of one (1) year of experience administering proficiency-based assessments (i.e., DLPT, ACTFL, OPI, etc.)

LI 3: A minimum of one (1) year of experience designing proficiency-based curricula

Over 10 years cumulative experience designing curricula for adult learners in a higher education setting as well as in one-on-one settings/classes.

LI 2: A minimum English proficiency level of a 2/2 on the ILR proficiency scale.

LI 3: A minimum English proficiency level of a 3/3 on the ILR proficiency scale.
