I have been instrumental in work control planning and fabrication and maintenance of nuclear facility equipment & systems. I have been the point of contact for the work crafts and the engineering group at the Idaho Nuclear Engineering Laboratory Maintenance and Fabrication Department for the past 14 years. Prior to that I was the Superintendent of the maintenance & Fabrication shop here at the Idaho Nuclear Engineering Laboratory.
In addition, I am certified & qualified in such areas as Rad worker 1 & 2, 40 Hour Haz-Whopper, Confined space supervisor, Maintenance & fabrication planner, Respirator user, Asbestos worker & Supervisor. I also hold a seat on the Idaho Nuclear Engineering Laboratory Weld Committee.

As the weld engineer at INTEC for many years and CWI Welding SME I have had the opportunity to work with several Welding Foreman. Welding is a highly skilled craft as you know. In the past we have had foreman who had previous experience as welders as well as foreman with only incidental experience with welding. Invariably the welding activities were performed more efficiently and with greater attention to the applicable welding codes when an experienced foreman with welding background managed the activities. I hope that Vic Pires continues to be involved in managing the welding activities for CWI as he clearly has the extensive background experience as a welder that I believe is required to efficiently run a weld shop.

This included interpersonal communication via direct conversations, phone calls, and emails with a wide variety of individuals and groups to pull it all together.
