Beaconlite is a web enabled intranet application which is an extension to existing client server application beacon, It mainly branched into 3 functionalities, dropping of orders to system, Production in shop floor, shipping out of units to customer. BEACON SYSTEM

Beacon is a client server package developed mainly for order tracking, processing and sending various critical decision-making reports to users/planners/managers. It helps managers to track the current position of an order. It tracks various types of orders like Normal (Default configuration), Select express (User defined configuration), Rack (All servers with rack Configurations). These Orders are initially accepted by HEART, which sends order information to BEACON via various interfaces, Once the order is received in BEACON, the orders are tracked at each stage from building of product to packing, labeling and handover to forwarders, palletisation of shipboxes based on delivery date & customer, shipping out the finished product for delivery to customer. Each phase is tracked in beacon, once product is delivered to customer, the information is sent to BILLING system which in turn prepares invoices for customer. ICIS Migration from Pro*C to PL/SQL

The ICIS system is used for generation of invoices for most of the customer orders in HP. Whenever an order has completed shipment from Beacon system, the shipment information is sent to ICIS from Beacon for invoicing. The Beacon system receives the invoice number and maintains it in the database.

Metrics System

The Metrics is a web based (PL/SQL Cartridges) reporting system developed to cater all turn around time reports for managers, planners.

The Beacon system is a shop-floor distribution system, which is used for processing the orders in its production cycle. The bulk of shop-floor operations of HP-AP, depends upon the availability of this 24 x 7 x 365 system.
