Responsibilities

1)Ensure high availability of plant and equipment in his concerned area through planned maintenance and quality repairs with quick and effective response.

2)Carry out opportunity maintenance activities during pattern/dies change, No load on machines.

3)Ensure cost reduction through import substitution/non-oem sourcing of quality spares.

4)Review stock levels of mechanical items and identify obsolete stock to reduce spares inventory.

5)Recommend subordinates for training and development. Impart guidance to subordinates to perform effectively.

6)Plan and carry out critical modification/up gradation jobs ensuring minimum plant outage and efficient utilization of resources for plant capacity improvement.

7)Ensure compliance with various safety norms to avoid accidents/minor injuries.

8)Coordinate with the purchase department to ensure timely arrival of critical spares.

9)Prepare failure analysis reports and ensure implementation of all recommendations to avoid recurrence.

10)Prepare budget proposals for approval.

11)Monitor equipment history and accurate cost information for all mechanical maintenance activities.
