LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE:

Heritage High School 2016-Present

Shadowed Associate Principal to TELPAS Admin. Training where I learned that Principals are required to receive annual training in test security and general testing procedures. Principals responsibilities are: To ensure that test security is maintained, oversee the implementation of the test administration process, supervise testing coordinator, oversee training of campus staff and report any suspected violation of test security to the district testing coordinator.

Frisco ISD Leadership Academy Training. I was chosen as one of only 25 to attend the academy to learn the responsibilities, duties and obligations of being a Frisco ISD administrator. This training was over 4 months of meetings with district leaders, former and current Principals, Superintendent of FISD, and human resource personal. These sessions focused on understanding the day-today duties of an assistant principal, with focus on the topics of instructional leadership, school improvement, curriculum implementation, data analysis, and staff development. We also read and discussed books and articles related to the principal-ship and went over the Profile of a Future Ready Leader.

Frisco ISD Focus Group with Stetson and Associates: As a Special Education teacher representative worked with leadership group to implement procedures that impact the climate and culture on campus to ensure fidelity and develop a communication plan that provides transparency to the process of Sped teachers.

Summer school Curriculum writer for Special Education 4 years. Alignment of national and local standards guided by the laws, and their relationship to needs and goals of students with disabilities. Providing instruction through planning and designing instruction for the special needs population.

Headed the Special Education Department Turkey Trot Committee. In charge of 30 plus staff to implement a Thanksgiving dinner for a Heritage High School custodian. By delegating responsibilities and gathering together all necessary supplies to give custodian the full Thanksgiving Day meal, and presented to the committee all the details for the project at hand. Designed a physical presentation the final creation to the custodian.

Developed an idea to create an “Employee Wellness Room” for staff. I brought this idea to my department head, that employees are stressed and even more so with the Covid-19, learning new procedures, and having simultaneous face to face as well as virtual learning in classes. Wouldn’t it be great if Heritage could provide a room or area where employees could go to during their conference period for a few minutes to destress, even physically stretch on yoga mats. My department leader loved the idea and we now have a room dedicated for “Staff Wellness” on B days at our campus. The positive feedback we got from the staff was overwhelming.

Worked on 4th quarter Teacher Duty Schedule with assistant principal, Allison Ginn, assigning teacher’s duty stations throughout the building to coincide with their conference period.

On the Whole Child Committee at Heritage High School 2020-2021

Shadowed two school Principals with Plano ISD to observe daily routine/activities. These sessions focused on understanding the day-to-day duties of a principal, with focus on the topics of instructional leadership, school improvement, curriculum implementation, data analysis, and staff development.

Filled in for Dean of school, Karen Ball at Renner Middle School when she was off for the day. Administering discipline to students, calling parents and completing paperwork for documentation. Taking attendance contracts and creating alternative solutions with behavior contracts.

Mentor Liaison: Facilitated and supported the new teachers to our campus, meeting with these teachers once a month. Provide workshops and trainings to new teachers, helping them acclimate to the campus.

Faculty Representative: Attended monthly School board meetings, taking notes and reporting back to my school with pertinent information for staff. Understanding the framework and process of school board meetings. Attended Teaching and Learning Council meetings to discuss the districts move toward meeting state requirements.

Sat in and observed hiring process with a Principal for a future-ready teacher. The positive and significant process the Principal has in the hiring process.
