Resume:

Hello, my name is Al. It's been a minute since I needed a resume', I can put one together, but I wanted to respond to this, immediately.

I recently moved back to Ohio, the Toledo area. I'm from central Ohio, but my 3 sons live in Toledo.

I'm 54, I've been welding, fitting, fabricating, and building since 1985 (I was 15). My grandfather had a mechanical contracting/structural steel/ welding business. I essentially grew up there. In 1985 he had me build 10' sections of handrail (A 1.5" pipe top rail, 2-1.5" pipe legs 36"tall, a 1.25" pipe mid rail, and a 4"x.25" kick plate.), for the Honda plant in Marysville. Over the next couple years I probably made a mile+ of them in total.

I'm certifiable in structural/plate SMAW, FCAW (dual shield), GMAW short arc/spray/pulse spray, FCAW gasless. I've passed over half a dozen AWS or ASME 1" plate, with either .045 or 1/16 Dual Shield since the 90s.

My GTAW isn't worth going into. I CAN do it. I don't want to do it, and there's almost always someone around that will do it better than I will.

My greatest strengths are understanding, deciphering, and building from prints. I had 2 years of drawing. My dad is a civil engineer, and my brother in law was a mechanical engineer, I learned a lot about drawing from them when I was a kid. My math skills, associated with building and fabricating, are excellent. For the last 20 years +/- I've been the guy that figures out what most everyone else can't figure out.

Out of almost 39 years experience about 3/4 of that is structural and plate, the rest is split approximately in thirds over pipe, pressure vessels, and large petroleum tanks.

Some of the highlights over the last 30+ years are

Being the sole fabricator building the cabinets for the transformers of the electromag catapult launchers on the super carriers, also being one of 4 guys certified to weld on those cabinets (it sounds way more important than it was ). Being the sole fabricator building alcohol columns for Honeywell, in Virginia. Complex fabrication for the U.S. Navy, NAVSEA certifications. Being sole fabricator for a 2 story nitrogen purging unit for the Shell refinery in League City Tex. Sole fabricator for the structure for a high pressure plastics cooling loops. Miles of stairs and stair rails. There's a lot more relatively standard fabrication and welding.

I'm experienced with most shop equipment, shears, brakes, ironworker, drill press, band saw, cold saw, manual plasma, oxygen fuel cutting and heating, track torch, with some experience with a mill. There's more equipment that I've used but that's off the top of my head.

If you've got any questions, want me to provide more details, just holler.

Thank you,

Al
