Intake and processing of civil suits. Types of suits include but or not limited to; Damages, Car Accidents, Medical Malpractice, Seizure and Sales, Writs of Possession, Expropriations, Money Due, Garnishments, Successions, Right of Way/Property Disputes.

*Processing duties for the above include, but are not limited to:

-Preparation of citations, subpoenas, Rules to appear in Court *Populating the appropriate Judges docket

(which consists of 13 judges)

-Sending the necessary paperwork/pleadings to the appropriate sheriff’s department

-Answering phone calls from the general public, attorney’s, attorney’s office and staff, Judges, Judges office and staff and more

-These duties directly coincide with the Mortgage, Conveyance and Recording/Cancellation Department of the Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court. Which include, but are not limited to recording of judgments and/or cancellation of judgments; divorce judgments; community property; assumption of mortgages; conveyance of property; pulling and researching of mortgage and conveyance records Civil Minute Clerk

Setting and preparing the appropriate Judges Civil Court dockets.

*Court duties include, but are not limited to:

-Having all necessary forms, prepared and ready for the Judge

-Swearing in all potential witnesses

-Keeping track of what parties are present for what case. Knowing what attorney (if they are represented) is present in open Court for the parties

-Marking, filing, logging any and all evidence presented and filed into the court record

-Typing/memorializing the Court’s decision and/or ruling by typing the minute entries for each case taken up. Accuracy is crucial and necessary

-All of the above duties are performed for all Rule Dockets, Bench Trials and Jury Trials Education

Graduate of St. Thomas More High School 1995 - 1999 Graduate of University of Louisiana at Lafayette

1999-2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies with a Minor/Emphasis in English Skills

-Easily able to adapt and make changes when necessary. This has been an integral and necessary part of my skill and ability the last 20 years while working for a Judicial District that consists of 13 Judges, and 3 parishes(Acadia, Lafayette and Vermilion)

-Impeccable typing skills

-Being thorough and detail oriented in all aspects of my work product and output

-Ability to answer any and all questions that may come up quickly and efficiently

-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

-Appropriately apply new law and regulations for processing
