Junior Engineer, ECO Grouting Specialists Inc., 2015 to 2019 Responsibilities: Assistance with field engineering on grouting projects, directing grouting operations, laboratory testing, report writing, preparing proposals, responsible for assembling, repairing, troubleshooting and technical support of the CAGES system (Computer Aided Grouting Evaluation System), assistance with real-time monitoring and assessment of grout characteristics and providing support to senior engineers and ECO staff. Conduct field verification on grouting projects (QA/QC). Ensuring safety protocols are followed during grouting activities. Project specific details follow:

Plant Bowen General Services Water Pond Grout Curtain, Georgia, USA, 2018-2019 ECO was retained to confirm the rheological and set characteristics of various grout formulations to be potentially used for contact and annular space grouting on the Plant Bowen project. Based on the laboratory trials, adjustments were made to the grout formulation to ensure that the grout formulations conformed to the project requirements. In addition to the laboratory trials of various grout formulations, ECO was retained to direct and monitor the grouting program to repair an Earthen dam of 1,000 feet in length.

As the Grouting Engineer:

• Performed laboratory testing.

• Supervised the assembly of the grout pump systems, mixing equipment and testing components.

• Trained the workers on the various grouting activities.

• Provided on-site direction and supervision of the drilling and grouting program.

• Adjusted the cement grout formulations during grouting based on the apparent Lugeon value trend observed.

• Coordination and monitoring of the QA/QC program.

• Operated the real-time monitoring system CAGES.

• Collected drilling and grouting data and reported on the daily activities.

• Composed technical CAD drawings.

• Directed standpipe installation using cement and acrylamide grout. Mosaic K3 Shaft Pre-Excavation Grouting Program, Saskatchewan, 2015-2018 ECO designed and directed a pre-excavation grouting program to facilitate the sinking of two 20-foot diameter shafts to a depth of approximately 3,700 feet. The shafts are expected to traverse major water bearing formations. The pre-excavation grouting program was undertaken to minimize the ingress of water in the unlined shafts during construction. An acrylamide based grouting program was designed for the project to permeate the various types of rock formations expected to be encountered which were governed by matrix and fissure permeability and subjected to hydrostatic pressure that could be as high as 1500 psi. A shaft liner repair program was also implemented to stop water ingress through cracks using water-reactive polyurethane injection. As the Grouting Engineer:

• Provided on-site direction and supervision of the drilling and grouting program, and shaft liner repair operations;

• Supervised the assembly of the grout pump systems, mixing equipment and testing components.

• Adjusted the cement, microfine, polyurethane and acrylamide grout formulations during grouting based on the apparent Lugeon value trend observed.

• Coordination and monitoring of the QA/QC program.

• Assisted senior staff members in developing various method statements for sealing various shaft liner configuration.

• Operated the real-time monitoring system CAGES.

• Collected drilling and grouting data and reported on the daily activities.

• Composed technical CAD drawings.

Willow Creek Conduit Liner Rehabilitation, 2017

ECO was retained to confirm the rheological and set characteristics of various grout formulations to be potentially used for contact and annular space grouting on the Willow Creek project. Based on the laboratory trials, adjustments were made to the grout formulation to ensure that the grout formulations conformed to the project requirements.

As the Grouting Engineer:

• Performed laboratory testing;

City of Calgary - LRT Tunnel Remediation, Alberta, 2017 ECO designed a pilot backwall grouting program to reduce the permeability of the soils surrounding the tunnel liner to mitigate the water migration into the tunnel via the construction joints and cracks in the liner. The grouting program consisted of first injecting the joints and cracks with polyurethane grout to create confinement followed by the injection of an acrylamide-based grout in the soils immediately adjacent to selected joints/cracks.

As the Grouting Engineer:

• Trained the workers on the various grouting activities;

• Directed and supervised the grouting crew;

• Recorded pertinent grouting data and reported daily grouting activities. BHP Billiton-DMC Jansen Mine - Pre-Excavation Grouting Program, Saskatchewan, 2016-2017 ECO designed and directed a pre-excavation grouting program to facilitate sinking of two 10.3m diameter mine shafts to a depth of approximately 900m. The shafts were expected to traverse water bearing formations that could negatively impact sinking operations. ECO designed a pre-excavation grouting program using acrylamide grout to permeate the various types of rock formations encountered which were subjected to hydrostatic pressures in the range of 1000-1500 psi. As part of the grouting program, ECO designed and directed the construction and commissioning of a surface grout batch plant capable of supplying acrylamide grout to both shafts. ECO directed the probe hole drilling program to determine the actual need for the execution of the pre-excavation grouting program. The results obtained from the probe hole drilling program revealed a rock matrix with a much lower permeability than anticipated, therefore no pre-excavation grouting program was required. As the Grouting Engineer:

• Designed and performed lab tests to create an optimal grout formulation for installation of standpipes in frozen ground;

• Aided Senior Engineers in preparing the method statement;

• Produced CAD drawings for creation of surface grout batch plant and for grout hole layout in the shaft.

• Directed the construction of the surface grout batch plant and assisted in commissioning activities.

• Directed standpipe installation using cement and acrylamide grout, as well as probe hole drilling and hole abandonment activities in the shaft.

Mosaic K3 South Shaft Minus 40 Level Grouting Program, Saskatchewan, 2016 ECO designed a grouting program using ultrafine cement-based suspension grout and a water- reactive polyurethane to seal off water inflow near the collar of the mine shaft. As the Grouting Engineer:

• Aided in preparation of method statement and drawings;

• Supervised and directed the grouting equipment assembly;

• Provided the on-site direction and supervision of the grouting program;

• Collected drilling and grouting data and reported on the daily activities. Pine Creek Modification of Dam and Outlet Works, 2016 ECO was retained to provide expert analysis of the grout mix design used during the grouting of a tunnel. Laboratory tests were performed to determine the stability and suitability of the grout for application in which it was used.

As the Grouting Engineer:

• Performed laboratory testing and forensic research;

• Prepared report with results and analysis of the lab tests. Manganese Metals Company - Pappas Quarry Aquifer Grouting Program, South Africa, 2016 ECO peer reviewed geotechnical reports and the conceptual grouting program tabled to curtail the runoff from the Pappas quarry towards a nearby stream. ECO provided recommendations and a brief methodology describing the means and methods to be incorporated in the implementation the proposed grouting program.

As the Grouting Engineer:

• Aided in reviewing geotechnical data and conducting feasibility of the proposed program

• Aided in preparing the method statement
