MARCH 2022 – CURRENT

DESKSIDE SUPPORT ANALYST / SITE SUPPORT ANALYST, HCL TECHNOLOGIES AT EXXONMOBIL (AGILE certified)

Provided Deskside and Onsite or Remote site Support at 13 ExxonMobil facilities throughout the Appalachia region, working for MSP HCL Technologies. This included 5 office locations, and 8 compressor stations.

As SRC- Stock Room Coordinator for the region, I was responsible for maintaining an inventory of break/fix laptops, docking stations, peripherals and ZOOM kiosks for all locations and 125 personnel.

Update asset inventory through Service Now, resulting in 100% compliance on quarterly Inventories.

Worked on tickets through Service Now, creating my own tickets, forwarding tickets to other teams and monitoring for incoming tickets from users and other teams.

Maintain XEROX and HP MFP devices through EOL for all office locations in Appalachia.

Maintain 7 ZOOM rooms – making them available for all meetings.

Smart Hands for the Network Team out of Texas, assisting in troubleshooting, console connectivity, installation of new technologies and replacement of faulty equipment.

Smart hands for our server team located in Texas, to assist in upgrades, parts replacement, and troubleshooting.

Smart hands for our field connectivity team, assisting with remote help on radio networks and UPS gear in all our computer rooms, MDF and IDF rooms.

Since there was no documentation when I started, I documented everything I worked on, documented all tips that I became aware of and created my own library of helpful documents.

I maintained Appalachia in the green on all SLA’s measured by the business, met deadlines on all required training, submitted timesheets and travel logs on time every week.

Normally a 3-person position, I have been achieving and surpassing expectations with myself as the only analyst at the regional office in Warrendale Pa.

Completed a huge project to install SDWAN technology at all 13 locations. Including removal of old equipment, with minimal downtime.

Saved XTO Technologies $150,000 by scheduling and installing newer transmission technologies, replacing old T1 MPLS networks at 4 locations, in a timely manner.

Maintained a Set of laptops with images, to be used only for Readiness in case of a complete outage to ExxonMobil’s network and current laptop fleet.

NOVEMBER 2014 – JUNE 2021

GLOBAL OPERATIONS CENTER ANALYST, PPG Industries (ITIL certified)

Started as an onsite contractor through All-Lines Technology. Hired by PPG in 2017. Worked at the PPG Corporate office in Pittsburgh, Pa.

During a 12-hour shift on a 24x7x365 Team, I monitored all aspects of PPG’s Global Infrastructure. Using various monitoring tools as well as experience, common sense, policies, and knowledge articles, I was primarily involved with troubleshooting issues, repairing, escalating to next level teams when applicable and thoroughly documenting through an ITSM ticketing system.

Knowledge and proven experience working with Vendors such as Dell and EMC, HP, AT&T, and Orange to assist with resolution on our products that required a part and/or dispatch from the vendor.

Working knowledge of:

oWindows servers, LAN and WAN technologies and the inter-connection of devices covering a Global network of 57 countries.

oDNS and networking technologies such as Men and Mice, PRTG and Splunk

oBackup and Recovery on Veeam, Networker, HP Data Protector and NetFiler.

NOVEMBER 2007 – NOVEMBER 2014

SYSTEM SOFTWARE ANALYST, PPG INDUSTRIES (on-site consultant from All Lines Technology).

As a member of the Windows / Intel team (WINTEL), I was responsible for OS and hardware on all the corporate servers. Through ticketing system, I worked issues involving the OS, various hardware issues, worked with our Vendor of choice on issues and escalations.

Was requested to be on the WINTEL Team during a very large project to image, configure, organize the correct data cabling from our data center, SAN connections from our SAN team, for PPG’s start of E-Template environment. This was very successful for PPG.

Created PPG’s automated server image via Altiris Deployment Solutions and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. The image needed to be global, so I travelled to Paris and Amsterdam data centers to test and work with our support at those locations – successfully. I then used bootable media such as DVD, and then USB drives to ship to locations, allowing minimal need for user interaction at remote locations.

Worked on Boot from SAN procedures and practices. Was in constant working communications with our data center technicians to create a great working relationship.

Assisted in the development of PPG’s remote staging servers and the selection of what hardware was purchased for use as image deployment servers, as well as used to house needed data from many teams such as AD, SQL, CITRIX, File Services and Web Teams for deployment and quick re-deployment of server OS.

Second and Third level support 7x24 for troubleshooting server OS and hardware issues to resolution. This involved constant communication with global teams.

JANUARY 2002 – NOVEMBER 2007

HARDWARE SUPPORT / END USER SUPPORT ANALYST, PPG INDUSTRIES – onsite Consultant from Lantek Services.

Responsible for support of ALL of PPG’s corporate office and North American laptop’s, desktops and network printer hardware and operations.

Certified as a vendor hardware analyst, I worked extensively with the vendor of choice to order parts I had deemed in need of replacement. Organized a working inventory, logging of parts, receiving and shipping of parts in a timely manner.

Began a data recovery option for basic data recovery of single disk drives for users who were unable to boot from their drive. I learned Knoppix to use as my bootable media, mount and pull data to a safe location to restore back when user had no other means of recovery.

Developed hands-on training for members of PPG’s Service desk who required more knowledge of BIOS settings, hard drives, memory, LAN to PC connections, so that they could better assist their end users in problem resolution.

Assisted in all operations involved in on-boarding new user laptops, imaging laptops, updating user information in Active Directory, and keeping an inventory of all user equipment, both in-house inventory and in use.

Involved in picking my replacement when the Wintel team requested me in their group, so that the hardware could remain supported by an able and qualified candidate.

JANUARY 2001 – JANUARY 2002

CONSULTANT, Various companies needing LAPTOP os UPGRADES.

From September 2001 – January 2002, I worked at Halifax Corporation in Crafton as a field engineer. Travelled to various locations in Western PA to analyze issues, order parts, repair, all PC, laptop, and network printer hardware for agencies of the State of Pa, including Pa. State Police. I left Halifax after being offered a job at Lantek onsite at PPG.

From January 2001 – September 2001, I worked on projects I was selected for as a private consultant, to assist in the upgrade of sales force laptops from Windows 9X to WinXP, test and return working laptop to the client sales force. All projects completed on time.

DECEMBER 1984 – JANUARY 2001

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER, Motorola Information systems group

Worked in the field, remotely as Field Service Engineer for Pa, eastern Ohio and northern WVa areas.

Responsible for all of Motorola’s WAN equipment from sales meeting with salesman and client, through to the installation, configuration, and turnover of working networking equipment to client. Also, for troubleshooting issues, and working the issue to resolution, much of the time with great teamwork from various Telco companies.

Kept and maintained a company vehicle, responsible for mileage, cleanliness, upkeep, and inventory that I carried as well as test equipment needed for all situations.

Technologies that I was trained extensively on via Motorola University in Massachusetts includes Motorola routers, switches, modems, T-1 and X25 switches, various multiplexers, ISDN terminal adapters and frame relay access devices.

UNITED STATES NAVY, Electronics Technican- various duty stations

Served 6 years in the US Navy. Trained in Basic Electricity and Electronics, Class A school- Advanced electronics, Class C school transmitter and receiver technology. Received Honorable Discharge at the end of my 6-year enlistment to pursue civilian employment.

Assigned duties onboard the USS Mt Baker, AE-34- 2 med cruises.

Trained at Navy electronics schools in Great Lakes Il, for approx. 2 years. Graduated all classes at the top 5 of every class.

Stationed at Naval Communication Station, Keflavik Iceland for 1 year.

Assigned to Special Boat Unit 20, Little Creek Va., as part of a 3-man special warfare boat crew as part of Navy Special Warfare teams. Completed survival training, weapons training, leadership training, and a 16-month deployment to the Caribbean along with Navy Special Warfare Team Operators.
