Main assignment is the remediation of CAPAs for Manufacturing Engineering. Participated in deep dives and investigation of gaps in the IQ, OQ, and PQ activities of production equipment and fixtures. Currently leading the writing and execution of IQ and OQ protocols for multiple production printers.
Senior Mechanical Designer/Associate Engineer
Actalent– Temporary assignment at Acutus Medical
April 2021 – October 2021
Assisting with the documentation and release of production fixtures and drawings in SolidWorks. Participated in and designed new fixtures by getting input from operators and considering increase in productivity. Worked very heavily in designing and 3D printing of prototype parts in Formlabs and Stratasys printers.
3D CAD Designer
Mindlance – Temporary assignment at Beckman Coulter
November 2020 – April 2021
Assignment consisted of creating 3D solid models in SolidWorks for use in technician training modules for test equipment. This data was created by using existing Power Point presentation photos and collaborating with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for dimensions of certain components Deep analytical thinking is necessary in order to gage the proper sizes/proportions of additional components that the SME was unable to provide measurements for due to the equipment being densely packed.
Mechanical Engineer I
Indotronix – Temporary assignment at Becton Dickinson
June 2018 – June 2020
Initial assignment was supporting Verification and Validation testing in a controlled product testing lab on disposable IV tubing and components. Was able to identify an issue that, although out of the scope of the protocol, had the possibility of causing a CAPA in the future. Lead for pinch clamp consolidation of parts for cost down. Worked with Corporate Marketing on sample scheduling and assembly. Coordinated with plant in Tijuana, Mexico on creating feasibility test samples for mechanical and product initial testing. Compared results with data from parts/assemblies already in production. Main contact for building marketing samples of projects in process for evaluation by sales and clinical contacts. Major player in working with facilities in order to get a large piece of equipment through a small window. Requested quotes and coordinated schedules for delivery and equipment placement in lab. Assisted in feasibility testing on projects for cost savings. Designed fixtures to be used on an Instron universal testing machine, as well as for Product Test Lab temperature room and feasibility testing applications.
Associate Engineer
MLS Technologies, Inc. – Temporary/Perm assignment at Sommetrics
March 2018 – May 2018
Design of parts for a PWB testing fixture as well as another for the application of gel to silicone neck collars used to battle sleep apnea. Tolerance stack-ups performed to ensure correct placement of boards onto the fixture while keeping in mind Design For Manufacturing. Worked with Document Control in order to do BOM modifications. Created 3D printed prototypes as well as using power/hand tools in the Mechanical lab to prove out designs
Mechanical Engineer II
Zenith Talent – Temporary assignment at Philips Respironics
May 2017 – March 2018
Product design and development, DFMEA, 3-D CAD, Tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and BOM creation. - Creation or updates of parts and tools including drawings, CAD models - Creating or updating drawings for parts, sub-assemblies, products or test fixtures. - Creating or updating bills of materials - Creating or updating 3D CAD models.
Drafter
Apex Life Sciences – Temporary assignment at ICU Medical
February 2017 – May 2017
Main assignment is to design disposable medical devices, such as catheters, to be manufactured by injection molding processes. Confirmation of these designs done by creating 3D printed samples to test the fit and function.
