National Sales Manager/Supervisory Principal, HighMark Capital (Union Bank) – January 2008 – January 2011.

Was recruited from AIG/SunAmerica, to Highmark Capital (Union Bank). I saw it as an opportunity to grow yet another struggling company. They were on the brink of failure, but they had two good mutual funds, and 4 good wholesalers. Within 3 years, we took sales from net redemptions, to a positive $24 million per month, and 12 GREAT wholesalers. I restructured the compensation plan so that my top wholesalers would make more than me, I gave up 20 bps.

o Highmark offered me a guarantee that was equal to what I had been making at AIG/SunAmerica, plus a signing bonus & stock options.

o HighMark was based in San Francisco, vs. my prior home-office in NYC, dramatically reducing travel. o I worked with the board of HighMark Capital, and directly with our CEO & Portfolio Managers, going over investment, marketing and investment Ideas, in essence serving as CIO as well as National Sales Manager.

National Sales Manager, AIG/SunAmerica Asset Management – March 2002 – Jan 2008 (my total tenure at AIG/SunAmerica was over 11 years, Oct 1996 – Jan 2008). Sales grew from $300 million to over $4 Billion during my tenure. As a result, I was aggressively recruited by HighMark Capital & several other firms. Divisional Sales Manager, AIG/SunAmerica Asset Management –January 2000 – March 2002. Gave up half of my territory to manage the Western U.S. Sales grew by 2X in two years. I was then promoted to National Sales Manager.

Mutual Fund Wholesaler, AIG/SunAmerica Asset Management – October 1996 – January 2000, took my territory from net redemptions (last in the company) when I took it over in 1996, to the #1 territory (of 24) in 2000. As a result, I was promoted to Divisional Sales Manager.
