Jointly responsible with the Captain for the safe operation of each flight. Analyzes and evaluates meteorological conditions to determine the safest and most economical route of each flight.

Reviews and applies any maintenance limitation.

Determines minimum fuel requirements in accordance with FAR's and company policies.

Follows FAR121 rules and prepares flight releases. Performs performance data to determine maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights.

Evaluates weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS, and any other information pertinent to the safe operation of flight.

I began my career with UPS in March of 1989 as a Crew Scheduler. At the time, there were no openings in the Flight Control Department as an Aircraft Dispatcher. March 1990, I was promoted into Management at UPS as a Supervisor of the Crew Scheduling Department.

March 1991, I was transferred into the Flight Control Department as a UPS 121 Aircraft Dispatcher with the same responsibilities as listed above. As a UPS Crew Scheduler, I scheduled flight crews to achieve optimal coverage of daily flights, scheduled IOE training, and made adjustments to crew schedules when delays and cancellations occurred. I monitored crew flight hours and was responsible for maintaining accurate flight and duty records in accordance with FARs/crew legalities.

08/1985 to 03/1989 Crew Scheduler & Aircraft Dispatcher Piedmont Commuter Airlines – Charlotte, NC

Sept 1988 Obtained my FAA 121 Aircraft Dispatchers License at the age of 23 and begin preparing Flight Releases for 121 Commuter Flights. Aircraft: Shorts 360.

Prior to Sept 1988, Crew Scheduler - Scheduled flight crews for 121/135 Operation, monitored flights, logged flight times and was responsible for maintaining accurate flight and duty records in accordance with FARs/crew legalities.
