Deputy Commissioner of Facilities O’Hare International Airport

● On 24/7 call for all emergencies at ORD.

● Responsible for the Operations and Maintenance of over 300 facilities on the busiest International Airport in the County.

● Oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $170 million. Largest budget at the Department of Aviation.

● Works closely with other CDA sections, including finance, design and construction, and Termain operations.

● Works closely with other City of Chicago Departments, including but not limited to: Police Department, Fire Department, Department of Law, Department of Procurement Services and Department of Buildings.

● Utilized the Department of Buildings’ Demolition Master Agreement contract to remove dangerous and hazardous salt dome.

● Oversees the O’Hare International Airport Job Order Contact (JOC) for several projects.

o Managed the rehab of over 100 residential units throughout Cook County. o Oversaw the construction of two new playgrounds, a new basketball court, rehabilitation of 3 basketball courts and 3 community centers.

o Oversaw the insulation of the HACC Apartments in Robbins, IL resulting in an energy cost reduction of 30%.

o Administered the Job Order Contract (JOC) program with Cook County to streamline the HACC procurement process, reducing procurement time from 6 to 8 weeks to 7 to 10 days. o Manage the façade rehab project at the HACC Apartment in Park Forest, IL o Oversaw the Unified Federal Assessable Standard (UFAS) conversion per HUD requirements: 25 total units completed

o Conducts spreadsheet analysis on previous construction cost to budget for upcoming construction projects.

● Residential Service

o Oversaw the Human Services Section and the Family Self Sufficiency Program o Oversaw summer food program feeding over 1800 children. o Oversaw job fair for over 1000 county residents. o Worked with Catholic Charities to place a Crisp Store at the HACC Vera Yates site in Ford Heights. Crisp is a fresh, affordable, grocer with over 700 items available, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, breads, canned products, and more.

● Grant Writing

o Recidivism Reduction Grant – Awarded $100,000 / July 2014. o Violence Reduction Grant –awaiting formal announcement of award.

● Safety/Security

Department of Buildings 1999-2005

● Started as a Project Manager and moved up to Deputy Commissioner.

● Responsible for the demolition of over 15,000 dangerous and hazardous vacant buildings.

● Coordinated with the Department of Water, People’s Gas and Commonwealth Edison to shut off all utilities prior to the demolition.

o Notified all Utilities by email upon the identification of a vacant building to allow the utility companies to check their billing records.
