I worked at lyndell refinery.I was working on 5th deck for other contractors working in a confine space,when my meter detect lel rising.Blew the horn took out contractors.Signed them out,called on radio and reported what occurred.use of danger tape to secure work area.Called my supervisor,operations to work area,left area to designated site and do accountability,call on radio to notify all contractors and me are out of confine space..Operations notify my supervisor that a gas leak occurred and notify safety and when all clear.We return to work area,next day I was awarded for a job well done and was put on lyndell news.
