Duties included: Surgery Support/Decontamination Department- Hand-washed delicate instruments. Loaded and operated Washers loaded Cart-Washers for cleaning case carts. Loaded Sonic Washer for hard to clean instruments. Sterile Processing Dept.- Inspected, Strung, and Processed instrument trays (with use of the Abacus System), Wrapped Vendor Trays, and Peel-Packed Instruments.

Kansas University Medical Center ~ Kansas City, Kansas September 2007 ~ August 2008

Duties included: Sterile Processing Department and Decontamination Department involved suiting up with proper PPE, removing cart from elevator, scanning in all items on carts, rinsing instruments and placing in sonic machine for pre-wash, afterwards putting them in washer. Next, on the “sterile” side inspected trays to make sure all instruments are present, placing on stringer, and organized for Autoclave sterilization. Operated and tested Autoclave and Sterraid machines in both Sterile Processing and Operating Room Department. Completed Gas Loads and various other duties.
