DETAILED WORK EXPERIENCE

My recent role as a Finance Head in AECC includes wide range of activities. The brief description is enunciated in the following lines.

Working capital Management is wider term, it is not only include cash flow management, but fund raising as well, liaising with Financial Institutions and banks in order to suffice the working capital requirement with lowest financial cost. In any business there will be need of bridge finance based on proactive approached one has to be capable enough to evaluate the same accordingly it need to resolve based on various methods i.e. LC’s and PPC discounting and factoring facilities, and simultaneously I have to make sure that these facilities have to be utilize in an effective manner. So that profit can be maximized with smooth business operation.

Procurement department is reporting to me therefore it become immense to have effective procurement with lowest purchase price and favorable commercial terms, Timely delivery and last but not least quality of the items along with required certification i.e. if any. Since steel price is very volatile therefore I have to make sure for quality as well as lowest cost and favorable commercial terms.

Logistic is integral part of effective financial Management, we should not have over supply as well as short of material also be responsible factor for profitability. Precious items i.e. Steel etc. need to be purchased in an effective manner keeping in view Funds deployment to be minimize as well as.

Inventory Management I need to do the ABC Analysis, under A category expensive item and their delivery schedule need to be analysis approximately 60% whereas B category covered average price items to the tune of 30% of total Inventory whereas C category for remaining 10% items.

Commercial Department also reporting to me therefore I need to make sure that commercial terms should not be against our company then apart from routine Contract FIDIC interpretation along with commercial terminology i.e. Defects maintenance period liability, Retention clause, advance amortization etc. need to be properly placed in the contract. Then documentation for variation and their approval flow need to be documented as well as implemented, just to make sure that we are raising our claim on regularly and timely basis. Simultaneously I have to make sure that all required certificates i.e. Guarantees and warranties need to be obtained.

Taxation Matter I need to make sure that accurate VAT return need to file on or before the due date, and VAT has to be paid properly to FTA. As far Corporate Tax is concerned, we have just in process to obtain TRN for corporate Tax, and I have to make sure about all compliance aspect.

Bidding is coming under Estimation department but I have to make sure that the commercial department has considered each and every element of cost beside cost of Direct material, Direct labor and Direct overheads t i.e. Indirect cost ( Bank Charges for Bank Guarantees, Insurance premium and Office overheads and portion of admin staff Salary). Since we require to have Bid Bonds, Advance payment Guarantee, Performance Guarantee and retention guarantee. Before issuing any guarantees I have to make sure about Margin requirement as well as legal implication of these guarantees i.e. Open Ended or Close Ended bank guarantees.

HR, and Admin departments are also reporting to me. Therefore I have to make sure about compliance requirements as per UAE laws, Gratuity provision, Leave Salary provision, and Air Ticket provision etc.
