I am seeking a challenging position that requires utilizing my 40 plus years of garment manufacturing experience and technical skills as well as logistics knowledge for both offshore and domestic manufacturing. I have a proven track record with numerous accomplishments in the apparel/garment manufacturing business. Also, I have done very well in the furniture sales business. My work experience has given me the skills necessary to access and resolve most sales issues and to interact with all parties to address and resolve problems in an effective and timely manner. Sales Representative for ASHLEY FURNITURE

Responsibilities: Meet and greet customers to sell all types of home furniture.

This includes, Bedroom Sets, Mattress/Box Springs King, Queen, Twin, Full, Complete Bedroom Sets, Beds, Dressers, Mirrors, Chest of Drawers, Media Chests, Door Chests, Nightstands, and Lamps.

Living Rooms include Sofas, Loveseats, Comfort Chairs, Sectionals, Cocktail Tables, End Tables, Lamps, and Rugs/Carpets. Including Accessories of Paintings, Plants, Wall Clocks, Mirrors, TV Stands, and Fireplaces.

Reclining Living Rooms: Same as Standard Living Rooms Plus Features Power-Remote or Manual Life Mechanism.

I am consistently in the top 5 for sales for every month, of over 35 sales representatives. I increase profits for the company with the sales of protection plans (GBS), and finance options. I supply my personal cell phone to each customer to let them know that I am available 24/7 if they have any questions or concerns, and follow-up to ensure that they are satisfied. I stay in contact with each customer via promotion-mailers being sent to their home, and with phone calls advising them of future sales promotions during holidays, etc.

January 2015 – September 2016

Sales Representative for NAFECO INC. (North America Fire Equipment Company) Corporate Headquarters: Decatur, Alabama. I was based and resided in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities: Sales of Firefighters Protective Gear, loose equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, thermal imaging cameras, PPE turnout (bunker) gear along with wild land gear and station wear for fire departments and law enforcement agencies. My territory included 12 counties throughout Southeast Texas.

I was responsible and accountable for sales plus follow-up service after the sale for 238 Fire Departments, as well as numerous Police Departments.

Major Accomplishments: Increased sales by $400,000 in the 1st half of 2016

January 2010 – December 2014

American Apparel, vertical manufacturer of women’s, men’s, children’s woven/knit tops and bottoms.

I was the Production Manager responsible for quality, manufacturing cost, operator efficiency and productivity of 850 operators on a two-shift schedule. Designed and developed folder attachments for sewing operations, which eliminated 18 hand pressing operator’s positions with combined annual payroll savings of $300,000+ per year. Position based in downtown Los Angeles, California in a 500,000 square foot facility employing 6000+ sewing operators on two shifts.

June 1998 – November 2009

Berkshire Hathaway Fechheimer Brothers Company: Manufacturers of Law Enforcement/Public Safety Uniforms and Uniforms for the US Military including Officers Military Academies.

Held position as Corporate Quality Control Manager for offshore and domestic manufacturing. Responsibilities and Accomplishments: Implemented quality control and auditing procedures from in-process manufacturing to completed finished products with focus of meeting customer specifications. Sourced, placed and developed garment production in 22 Central-South America and Southeast Asia offshore contractor locations. Implemented and monitored quality control procedures as well as handled logistics of shipping finished product.

Developed QC processes in three corporate distribution centers. This included training of supervision and staff with verbal and written follow-up testing on a semi-annual basis. Fechheimer Corporate offices are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was initially based in Southwest Louisiana manufacturing facilities then transferred to their Atlanta, Georgia location.

1976 – May 1998

Westover Fashions, Hazleton, Pennsylvania: Women’s dress and sportswear manufacturer. Started in cutting development as marker maker/spreader after serving in the US Army. After learning how to operate Eastman Manual Cutting Machines was promoted to Cutting Department Manager for one year before holding position of Factory Manager. As Factory Manager, my responsibilities included overseeing each manufacturing process from receiving the fabric to the finished product.

Professional Accomplishments and Experience:

Sourced and developed apparel productions at numerous offshore and domestic apparel manufacturing locations. Offshore manufacturing locations included Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Taiwan, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Colombia.

Developed and implemented detailed QC reporting procedures at each factory location prior to every shipment of finished garments.

Created and had personally written extensive, detailed 93-page corporate quality control manual. Manual is ISO Certified as well as approved by the US Navy and Marine Corps in order to meet/maintain US Government Quality Requirements. Implemented a Designated Auditor QC program at each manufacturing location. This includes selecting candidates, on-site factory training, with follow-up via written and verbal testing on a quarterly basis.
