The course orients about the appropriate ways and methods of operation of vehicles that provides the service to the public. Advanced Driver’s Certificate – Grade II conducted at National Institute of Transport

(NIT). The subject covered were Analysis of Driving, Highway Codes, Philosophy of Driving, Driving Theory and Practice, Defensive Driving Techniques, Map reading and Use of Logbooks, Motor Vehicle Insurance, Basic Mechanical Principles, Fire Fighting and First Aid, Discipline, Road Traffic Act and Regulations and Principles of Handling Cargo. 1st October 2021 to Present.

Performs duties like,

Driving the assigned vehicle to various field destinations and running office errands. Maintaining the roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle by adhering to the routine service, inspection, and maintenance of the project vehicle. I am also responsible for ordering, receiving, and filling of bin cards for all incoming office consumables like stationeries and sundries.

Vendors’ invoices and bills follow-up for the goods and service offered to the office. Petty cash handling.

Provision of assistance to responsible administration assistant (based in Dodoma) in any office- relating matters like hotel booking, venue reservations, project branding in various occasions etc.

Oversees the wellness of the office like furniture’s set up, timely availability of office consumables (water for dispenser, kitchen sundries, stationeries), pre and after meeting conference neatness, security, tidiness, LUKU/power availability etc. Compilation/filling of various reports/documents like logbook, fuel consumption, garage logistics etc.

Since that the project dealt with channeling men’s positivity on family related matters like health (mostly HIV/AIDS awareness and family planning), behavioral changes, income generating activities etc. Despite of carrying out daily driver’s duties like collection, delivery and dispatching of parcels and letters or provisions of hotel/airport transfers. I was able to support the program officers during outreaches like preparation of info/edutainment concerts in the field.

Also, I assisted the Program Officers in HIV/AIDS induction class sessions that were carried out under Workplace Initiative Program. This program dealt with HIV/AIDS awareness raising to the key and vulnerable groups like migrant labors who works in various sectors like transportation, power construction projects etc.

Assisted the Operation Manager in his day-to-day tasks like follow-up of VAT exemptions for the purchased goods or service, doing hotel booking for staff and other associates like outsourced training facilitators etc.

AMREF, Care and Support Project – Iringa Office.

June 2005 – May 2010.

Performed duties like.

Ferrying of project personnel and properties to/from various official destinations as assigned by supervisor.

Worked closer with program officers in conducting supervisions, in paralegal aid, W/VMAC, identification of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs), orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) and their needs like food aid, shelter, school equipment etc. I facilitated the payment of monthly allowances and distribution of tool kits and other materials to contact persons and volunteers.

• HIV/AIDS Post Test Club Facilitation. This is a five days training conducted by AMREF at its Training Centre in Dar es Salaam, the training program contents were Group Dynamics, Introduction to personality development and growth, Facilitation skills, Adults learning, Practical issues facing PLWHAs, Life skills, Management of opportunistic infections and TB, Field excursion, Work plan, Report writing, Introduction to CTC, and Networking referrals and consultation. This training enhanced me to know deeply how to form the PTC clubs in the community, from how to mobilize the certain society members up to utilization of the potencies found within.

• Life Skills Education. This training has empowered my capacity of handling the social issues independently. For instance, income generation activities, social interaction, accountability, personality growth etc. The training was facilitated by AMREF in Iringa Rural.

• Micro-computer Application Course. I pursued this course at UDsm Computing Centre in Dar es Salaam, the course introduced the application of MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access and Internet. The knowledge I had obtain had simplify carrying out of my daily tasks in the office.

• PMTCT Training. The course has widened my knowledge on HIV/AIDS related matters and prevention of a mother to child transmission of HIV commonly. The course held in Iringa was organized and supervised by Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children.
