Assured Reliability Technologies Ghana, Technical Consultant–Mining Projects October 2022 – Present

As the Technical Consultant leading the mining Sector, my core duty is to assist mining institutions to deliver value on their investment in the full spectrum of Reliability, Asset Performance, and Operational Excellence across the maintenance field of works.

I support asset management initiatives at Guinea-Aluminum Company, Ghana Volta River Authority, Goldfield Ghana, and Nigeria Shell petroleum development cooperation. Efficiencies, enhanced reliability, and improved margins by realizing the full potential of their plant, people, and process. Key Successes:

Conduct Wrench Time Studies (Maintenance-Teams) to improve technician productivity for mine operators.

Implement contamination control across the Maintenance Sections of some institutions

Implement and sustain, Operate for Reliability (O4R) amongst mine fleet operators on each equipment fleet, and work with the Operations Superintendent/General Foremen to achieve high results.

Support maintenance teams on Life Cycle Cost Modeling on critical equipment for decision-making with management

General Forman - Support Equipment Dec 2020 – Oct 2022 As General Foreman – Support Equipment, I led over 65 subordinates and contractors in delivering on asset performance, achieving KPI targets on major production fleets (CAT 785C, Liebherr 9400, Epiroc DML, Atlas Copco 65 split Drill, Cranes, heavy-duty pumps, Light Vehicles and other auxiliary equipment). I ensure high safety standards and environmental stewardship.

Key Success:

Regular audit of assets, implement PM improvement strategies, investigate wrench time issues, unplanned breakdowns, and resource utilization, to ensure continuous improvement on quality of maintenance and support defect elimination projects.

Conduct RCFA / Defect Elimination on Pumps, Drills, Shovels, CAT785C and Cranes,

Ensure effective PSI meetings are held daily, productive shift handovers are done, tools and parts are returned and well cleaned, and PPE’s available and used effectively at all times.

Ensure coordination of all maintenance work, adherence to work management processes, engaging reliability/maintenance planning, schedulers/material coordination personnel to achieve high performance, and liaise with the production superintendent.

Report on weekly mine maintenance KPIs; MTBF, MTTR, FSAP, PCR compliance, scheduled compliance, warranty, and Scrap tire life with supervisors and team.

Ensure supervisors adhere to best work management processes with the team; LOTOTO/ FLRA, JHA, SOPs, FRM’s are done and MSDS are available to all hydrocarbons at work areas, Work order sign- offs and short interval control amongst others on all activities. NEWMONT MINING COMPANY, GHANA

General Foreman - Planning and Reliability Oct 2016 to Nov 2020 As the sectional lead for planning, I ensure quarterly, monthly, and weekly planning activities of all fleets; Liebherr 9400 shovel, DML / D65 split Atlas Copco Drills /Pumps, planning with safety in mind, budget/cost management and work management processes are adhered to at all times. Ensure department compliance with government procedures and conventions, implement and review the department's policies and procedures, and implement training in line with the company's people developmental program. Ensure accountability of MOS processes, and prompt delivery of Authorization For Expenditure (AFEs) to ensure accurate financial reporting and asset use. Key Success:

Developing, controlling, and reporting departmental budgets and AFE justifications on both CapEx/OpEx, including a major (contractor - Mantrac), Monthly Accruals, and others to over (USD 35M) each year.

Review work orders, notifications, PM compliance, PM overruns, availability (planned vs. actual on all critical fleets), and unscheduled downtimes and investigate possible causes; liaise feedback with Maintenance & Operations Superintendent / Mine Manager and the entire team.

Ensuring daily/weekly review of planned jobs, parts, resources, special tools, external contractor assistance, and operational demand. Ensure Task List, BOMs, JHA sheets, PM part list, SOPs, and equipment checklist, amongst others.

Weekly review of department’s KPIs, parts inventory/storage, lead-time, and warranty with planners, contractors, and supply-chain lead.

Lead, weekly review on safety events; near misses, incidents, accidents, and SPEs on all jobs

Ensure comprehensive SOPs are developed for all equipment at the department.

Implement and operate for Reliability (O4R) amongst mine operators on each equipment fleet.

Led, Live Work Elimination initiative, RCFA for the department including major contractors; Mantrac, Epiroc, Cummins, OTR, Liebherr, and Toyota companies

Implementation and tracking of archive certification register, for cranes, forklifts, overhead cranes, lifting gears, anchor points, car lifters, and pressure vessels for the department; to ensure full compliance with government statutory regulatory requirements for the mine maintenance.

The EPA lead auditor for the mine maintenance department; to ensure the department adheres to AKOBEN standards which include; waste management, water resources, chemical waste, and dust/noise reduction to ensure compliance as a department.

Supervisor-Radio & Dispatch Maintenance June 2007 - October 2016 As the Radio and Dispatch Maintenance Supervisor, I ensure the safety and well-being of my subordinates on the job, and plan resources, components, and job execution for the team. Recruit, plan, and set up of Radio and Dispatch Maintenance team for the Africa Region.
