Over the past four years, my primary focus has been leveraging my backend expertise to facilitate a transformative update of our eCommerce systems, including the integration of the US-based shop and the EU-based InTouch platform. The overarching goal was to seamlessly merge these two systems into a unified global eCommerce suite, leveraging Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

My journey began with the management of C# APIs interfacing with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and HANA as the core systems of record. As we progressed with the development of this new API, it became evident that a backend admin site was necessary for product owners to efficiently manage and maintain search metadata. Consequently, we initiated the construction of a storybook of React components. These components served a dual purpose: supporting the admin site and serving as the foundation for a Proof of Concept (POC) React search component that encompassed all API data related to products.

The React search component proved highly successful, featuring typeahead search lists, comprehensive product details, and a range of functionalities including order processing, liking, favoriting, item incrementation, and authorization logic for distinguishing between read-only and ordering capabilities. Building on this success, I transitioned to the front-end team, where my responsibilities included creating and maintaining existing functionality for quotes and orders.

Subsequently, I undertook another POC to seamlessly integrate our custom React product component into AEM. The success of this endeavor led to a swift implementation into InTouch, with plans underway for incorporating it into the overarching AEM design. This journey has not only showcased my proficiency in backend development but also demonstrated my adaptability and effectiveness in bridging the gap between backend and front-end functionalities, contributing significantly to the success of our eCommerce systems transformation.
