Resume:

ichael E. Hobbs

P.O. Box *****, North Chesterfield, VA 23236 • 281-***-**** • ad3bto@r.postjobfree.com Sir or Madam:

I believe my experience, skills and abilities regarding credit management and collections offer an excellent, mutually beneficial opportunity. While I have worked outside of the credit industry since I relocated to Virginia in 2012, I have 25+ years of experience and a proven track record as a credit management professional in the building materials industry, and I have a genuine interest in returning to professional credit work. Specifically, I believe two aspects of my resume suggest I may be a candidate of significant interest as you work to hire a credit manager. First, I effectively utilize a broad range of credit collection mechanisms to achieve outstanding results. I regularly assume responsibility for annual receivables in excess of $25 million and have achieved outstanding results. Most notably, at Sprint, Sand and Clay, I reduced bad debt reserve by 97% during my first year of employment; during my tenure there, I averaged approximately $20k in write offs per year on an approximate $50 million in annual receivables. Additionally, I achieved a great deal of success toward eliminating 90- and 120-day delinquent accounts. In addition to effective, diligent communication with customers, I also proficiently but discriminately pursue liens, bond notices, judgments and lawsuits to ensure timely collection. Second, I have experience communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers in a broad range of collection environments. I focus my efforts on working firmly yet collaboratively and diligently with customers to build relationships to ensure proper payment including regular, personal visits with customers to settle accounts. Internally, I work and communicate well with owners, executives, financial officers, company attorneys, sales staff and credit managers to improve company credit collection practices and results. I have supervised collection assistants, been asked to provide company-wide training regarding credit collection strategies, and have typically managed more than 500 accounts. My attention to detail and enthusiasm have earned consistent recommendations noting superior performance. Ultimately, I possess extensive knowledge of and experience with effective credit collection practices in the building materials industry. I am confident I can make significant contributions to ensure your company receives timely payment for services, materials or products, and I look forward to meeting with you in the near future to discuss your credit management employment opportunity.

Respectfully,

Michael E. Hobbs
