present Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center: Working with groups of troubled juveniles, who are awaiting trial; counseling, maintaining safety and security while working in a unit with team member assistant.

2003 - 2004

Maryville Academy: Worked with mothers and their children, who were recovering from verying stages and forms substance abuse. We counseled women on, parenting skills, breaking old addiction contacts and habits,

recovery methods, social living skills and effectively working with a support team.

Nov 2002 Roosevelt High School: Substitute teacher for special education students. Hands on experience with classroom management, time management, mentoring, classroom behavior, and self- motivation.

May 2002 Internship-Circuit Court of Cook County Juvenile Probation Department: Worked in the Release Upon Request Unit, releasing juveniles to the to county, to parents, or to DCFS; escorted children to court and testified on their behalf; made home and social visits during their juvenile placement; mentored the children. Interviewed juveniles to determine, if they qualified for placement in group homes. Did pre-trail assessments to get an understanding of the child’s reasons, for their unacceptable behavior. We also set appropriate curfews.

Transferred to EM, (Electronic Monitoring), went into the field with a partner and placed juveniles under house arrest; explained to children and parents the rules concerning house arrest: analyzed reports to verify the children followed the rules.
