I have worked in the ED at Skagit Valley Hospital for Patient Access since November of 2019. I currently hold a 0.8 FTE morning shift Monday through Wednesday and every other weekend. My job consists of checking patients into the emergency room, verifying their personal information, adding insurance,making sure the correct insurance is being billed for that encounter. I am also responsible for making a claim if the reason for visit requires me to do so as well as L&I, MVA, and Crime Victims. Another one of my responsibilities is to make sure patient valuables are put away and charted in the safe if someone is being admitted to the hospital. I am required to get the consent and hipaa signatures from the patient, parent or POA. My job also requires me to take ambulance calls from the nurses station and call codes in the appropriate timing as well as making sure they are logged in the code log book. I am also responsible for obtaining medicare messages for patients who are going to be admitted into the hospital as inpatients who are covered under a medicare plan. Part of my job duties also include completing bedside registration for patients who are admitted to the hospital up on the floors therefore I am required to verify their demographics, obtain all signatures such as HIPAA, Consent for Treatment and Medicare Message.

I am a receptionist at Cascade Valley Hospital. My job consists of assisting patients in checking in to the ER, checking them in for labs,X-Rays,Ultrasound,MRI,CT scans and any other type of appointment they are there for. I also hand patients any paperwork I need that comes along with their specific type of appointment to be filled out if it is required. My job also consists of verifying insurance for each patient I help.
