Financial Analyst – Contract to Full Time Employee
Epiq Global – September 2021 – November 2022 (Contract)/November 2022 – October 2023 (Full Time)
Rachel Wilson – Manager
Within this remote role, I reconciled Bank Statements with Company financial information, using primarily Excel spreadsheets. I worked with other teams to gather the financial information to reconcile the accounts. When errors were found, I worked with more teams to discuss the issues, determine the course of action needed to correct the errors, and then refresh all data once the errors were corrected to make sure the accounts reconciled. The company handles mass tort settlements with medical information in which HIPPA laws were paramount in conducting our communications. Upon catching on quickly, I was tasked with training new team members as well. I trained other team members in both the United States and also extra help that was required from the company branch in India. I was also involved with writing and updating SOPs for the position.
Small Business Loan Analyst – Contract
Robert Half – February 2021 – May 2021
Jake Free – Recruiting Manager
Worked as a contract worker with Lendio through Robert Half Strategic Accountants. In this role, I reviewed applications for appropriate documentation and calculated loan amounts for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), administered by the Small Business Association (SBA). Using the business owner’s Schedule C, Form 1120, Form 1120-S, or Form 1065, payroll totals were calculated to determine how much a borrower was allowed to request to help them with costs during the Covid Pandemic. This role later transitioned to working on fraudulent applications – identifying and confirming fake IDs, altered tax documents, and researching backgrounds of applicants with criminal backgrounds. The role also included filing Suspicious Activities Reports (SARs) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
Application Reviewer – Contract
Robert Half – January 2021 – February 2021
Summer Ransom – Recruiting Manager
Worked as a Contingent Worker with Atlantic Union Bank (AUB) through Robert Half Strategic Accountants. In this role, reviewed applications for appropriate documentation and calculated loan amounts for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), administered by the Small Business Association (SBA). The applicant must submit the correct documentation based on their business classification (sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation (C-Corp and S-Corp). Taking what was either self-employment income from their tax returns (for sole proprietorships or partnerships) or payroll totals from the quarterly Form 941s that were filed, a calculation determines how much a borrower is allowed to request to help them with costs during the Covid Pandemic. Worked on applications from those who were making a second draw, which the rules was a bit more stringent in what is acceptable than the first draw.
Junior Accountant - Contract
GenTech Associates, Inc – September 2020 – December 2020
Cameo Gibson – Supervisor
*******@*****************.***
Worked as an independent contractor with the Department of Veterans Affairs through GenTech Associates. Worked directly with various GS/11s through GS/13s in a team environment, where I managed a team of 17 other contractors all working remotely as we handled the re-establishment of the Customer Engagement Portal (CEP). CEP was forced to shut down due to a fraudulent data breach. In the process of reopening the CEP, my team and I approved and rejected users based on provider and vendor feedback. Tedious attention to detail was required in this position. This role also allowed me to learn how to manage people as well as handle questions from those who provide services to the VA.
