3. Worked as a Programme Assistant under Integrated Disease Surveillance Project at District Medical & Health Officer, Anantapur. (Apr 2007 to Mar 2011)

Project Details:

HIC/AIDS – Alliance India, Hyderabad

Alliance Regional Office in Andhra Pradesh is currently implementing a focused prevention initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 7 districts of Telengana and Rayalaseema. The programme is being implemented through NGOs and CBOs, covering a total key population of over 50,000. The programme supports the creation of an enabling environment to increase the effectiveness of the HIV response. Alliance’s efforts with Avāhan strengthen the capacity of NGOs and CBOs in the state to implement quality AIDS programmes in close partnership with the Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) and other capacity building partners. The ultimate aim of the project is to transfer the programme funding and management to the Government and the communities by end of year 2013.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for coordinating 5-8 CBOs in the district

2. Strengthen the activities of the CBOs

3. Conduct need based and standard training and capacity building programmes to the CBO Executive Committee, leaders and members

4. Build linkages with mainstream institutions and stakeholders

5. Ensure all required standards in CBO programme components e.g., organizational development, advocacy, crisis, financial and social entitlements

6. Provide capacity building programmes to CBO staff, CBO Coordinator, CBG Facilitator, MIS and functional staff

7. Ensure promotion and functions of CBGs at hot spots and Site Level Associations (SLAs) in CBO areas

8. Ensure promotion and functions of functional and sub committees at CBG, SLA and CBO level

9. Facilitate the CBOs, EC meetings.

10. Ensure all events and meetings of the CBOs – AGBM, Mahasabha etc.

11. Ensure timely legal compliances of CBOs.

12. Ensure financial management systems in all CBOs.

13. Ensure sending timely MIS, reports and documents to the concerned line manager.

14. Take up new initiatives.

15. Coordinate with all net working institutions of CBOs- Dist.Networks, PLHV networks etc.

16. Attend and respond all emergency situations and incidents of CBOs.

17. Work closely and coordinate with all Alliance Officers associated with Community Mobilisation in the District as well as at the Office in Hyderabad

NREGS – AAUM Research Center – IIT Madras, Chennai:

Description:

The objective of the Act is to enhance livelihood security in rural areas by providing at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.

Responsibilities:

1. Scrutinizing the annual development plan proposed by the GPs.

2. Including the proposals of the Intermediate Panchayat.

3. Consolidating all proposals into the block plan and submitting it to the Intermediate Panchayat.

4. Matching employment opportunities with the demand for work at the Block level.

5. Monitoring and supervising implementation.

6. Disposal of complaints.

7. Ensuring that social audits are conducted by the Gram Sabah’s and following up on them.

8. Payment of unemployment allowance in case employment.

IDSP-NRHM:

Description:

Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) is a decentralized, state based surveillance program in the country. It is intended to detect early warning signals of impending outbreaks and help initiate an effective response in a timely manner. It is also expected to provide essential data to monitor progress of ongoing disease control programs and help allocate health resources more efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support to State Surveillance Officers to implement IDSP and ensure operational continuity for the program.

2. Provide oversight for data collation, reporting, analysis and local action including outbreak investigation. Administer collection, compilation and analysis of passive surveillance data not only from peripheral health institutions but also from hospitals and colleges in the district.

3. Organize Rapid Response Teams for undertaking prompt outbreak investigations. Feedback to lower level institutions on reporting, trends and outbreaks. Local media monitoring.

4. Support capacity building by organizing training for state IDSP staff, monitoring training impact on the field and assessing emerging training needs.

5. Liaison with other departments that have relevance to disease Surveillance. Monthly reviews and compilation of periodic reports and plans under the project..

6. Maintaining Office Data and Communicating with State Officials.

7. To collect the Reports from PHCs and CHCs to Consolidate.

8. To analysis the Disease from Reports for feedback.

9. Gather information, data entry, report writing, following up of correspondence and responses typing of letters and other day-to-day computer related activities.

10. Provide secretarial assistance to the District Health and Family Welfare Society.

11. Preparation of monthly progress reports on the implementation of various programmes in the prescribed formats.
