PROJECTS:

OOA/ OOD/ C++:

Simulation of Warehouse: Written a C++ program to simulate a warehouse operation. The warehouse has three floors, and an elevator, which can go up or down to/from either floor. The first floor was used for parking and was not part of the simulation. Each of the 2nd and 3rd floors could support up to 5 customers. The two floors were represented as variables within the warehouse object, and the elevator was an embedded object within the warehouse. The customers were represented as an embedded array of pointers to customer objects (in the Warehouse object), which were dynamically allocated during the simulation. The concepts of Encapsulation, Composition were used.

Scenario Based Requirements Tool (SBRT Validation Subsystem): The SBRT validation Subsystem was designed and prototyped in VB 5.0 and MS Access 97. And then redesigned according to user feedback and implemented in C++ in UNIX environment. The concepts of Encapsulation, Association, and Aggregation were used in the implementation.

Simulation of Mini Operating System (SMOS): Involved in a team project that developed the Software Requirements Document (SRD) and Software Project Planning (SPP) Document for the SMOS. Implemented in C++. As a part of this, memory management algorithms are implemented. The concepts Of Inheritance and Polymorphism were used. This was developed in UNIX environment.

Sorting Algorithms: Insertion Sort, Heap Sort and Quick Sort algorithms are implemented on a 300 years old text of Bible to test the running times of different Sorting Algorithms. As a part of this Binary Search algorithm is implemented to search and count the occurrence of each word in the Text. Implemented in C using UNIX.

MST Algorithms and Graphs: Implemented Prim and Krushkal Algorithms using Fibonacci and Binomial Heaps on Adjacency List representation of undirected Graphs.

Tree Data Structures: Implemented different programs in C for manipulations on tree data structures. The tree data structures include Binary Trees, Red-Black trees and B-trees. The manipulations on these data structures include insertions, deletions, breadth first search, depth first search and topological sort. UNIX environment was used.

Database:

Designed and implemented a “Geography Database System”, which maintains information about different land and water objects. The designed EER schema was mapped into a relational schema and implemented on ORACLE 7.0 and tested using sample queries in SQL’92.

Designed and implemented “Database Catalog Security Subsystem” using Oracle7.1, PL/SQL and Pro*C. The catalog keeps track of users admin and relational privileges and allows them to grant and/or create relational privileges to other users depending upon the conditions specified in the Requirements Document.
