Research Work Experience Positions:

2020 Research Coordinator, Henry Ford Hospital- Swiftly and smoothly transitioned roles during a global pandemic at a tertiary urban hospital into coordinating the initiation of the “Will Hydroxychloroquine impede or prevent Covid” study, recruited and enrolled eligible patients for the study while navigating the fast-changing environment that the pandemic created, spent average of 60 hours a week for three months working to get study off the ground considering its possible utility for the pandemic.

2019-2020 Research Associate, Henry Ford Hospital – reliably mined data of 500+ patient with 30+ data points, managed national and international relationships with collaborators and coauthors 2018-2019 Research Assistant, Henry Ford Hospital – Collaborated with biomedical engineers and imaging technicians to ensure accurate and high-quality 3D printing models of patient’s hearts for physicians to plan interventional cardiac procedures, engaging with patients and their families by using 3D printing models for education of the procedure. 2016 Clinical Research Coordinator, Detroit Clinical Research Center – Ensured adherence to timelines and recruitment goals of a Phase 3 novel chemotherapy study seeking FDA approval, collaborated with study sponsors, ethics committees, and regulatory authorities to address any study-related queries or concerns.

2015 Clinical Research Intern, Detroit Clinical Research Center – Responsible for collected data accuracy from site representatives, assisted in data analysis and interpretation, generated reports and summaries for study investigators and sponsors. LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

2023-present Executive President of all four classes, SoM Student Senate - Privileged to represent and advocate in favor of one of the largest American medical school student bodies in meetings with LCME personnel, WSU administration, and six WSUSOM partner hospital sites, set and manage the execution of the quarterly executive senate goals for the entire Student Senate based on student’s survey results.

2023-present Student Member, SoM Dean’s Institutional Management Committee- provide student perspective in Dean’s strategic plan, develop useful network with Dean cabinet members to collaborate in real time on Student Senate lead projects. 2023-present Student Member, Student Senate Internal Survey Analysis Committee – co-develop an annual questionnaire to feel the pulse of students on various administrative changes and Student Senate projects, analyze data and report results to faculty and alumni. 2023-present Student Member, SoM Curriculum Management Committee- Participating in discussions and decision-making related to assessment methods and examinations, ensuring they are fair, relevant, and conducive to effective learning.

2022-present Founder and Immediate Past Chair, Student Senate Gender Equity in Medicine Committee- Established a partnership between WSUSOM and United Way of Southeast MI, a non-profit that gives free resources and mental health counseling to working parents, co-drafted policy for maternal and paternal leave for Undergraduate Medical Education, successfully fundraised for free OR-grade hijab head coverings for Muslim students to use during rotation and anatomy lab.

2022-2023 Executive Vice President of all four classes, SoM Student Senate- Oversaw the execution of initiatives and projects assigned to the internal committee, facilitated communication and coordination among committee members, provided updates and progress reports to the Student Senate at general body meetings.

2021-2022 Board of Student Organization President, SoM Student Senate- Led the board that manages 77 active and thriving student organization, established a new process for executive board turnover for all student organizations to ensure that students get a fair chance at leadership positions while also minimizing the paperwork and effort required from administrative staff, organized multiple school-wide events to promote student work in Detroit, co-drafted new and Dean- supported policy that reorganized email listservs use to increase effectiveness of student- to-student communications.

2020-2021 Student Member, Diversity Equity, and Inclusion Committee- Encouraged the inclusion of diverse perspectives and experiences in the curriculum to foster cultural competence and sensitivity in medical education.

2020-2021 Vice President of Class of 2024, SoM Student Senate- Sculpted social networks between the Class of 2024 with worthwhile video events, advocated for mental health counseling specifically for the Class of 2024 to navigate the coinciding of the pandemic with the first year of medical school.

2022- present Aesculapian Honor Society Volunteer, Congress of Communities- year-long relationship of volunteer work to run summer outside events for the children in Mexican town with working parents, sold shirts to fundraise for new clubhouse furniture, coauthored curriculum to teach teen girls in the community about period health and contraception. 2021-2022 Student Volunteer, Young Women Christian Association- created safe and inclusive place weekly for school aged children to paint and read to allow mothers time for themselves. 2021 Volunteer Vaccine Administrator, Detroit Health Department, efficiently and safely administered over 100 vaccines personally to the people of Detroit during the pandemic, debunked myths of the vaccine by citing credible scientific literature results with patients. 2021 Volunteer Vaccine Administrator, Ascension “My Health: Crushing Covid 19” Site, Vaccine Administration, swiftly learned the skill of proper IM vaccine administration, advanced to trainer role for new vaccine administrator within two weeks. 2021 Student Volunteer, Detroit Riverwalk Pop-up Clinic- comprehensively reviewed medication lists, diet habits, history with Trail-Joggers, led evidence-based discussion on the effects of exercise in metabolic and cardiac health based on the jogger’s real-time vitals. 2021 Community Volunteer, Lansing Refugee Development Center- provided free childcare to infants and school aged children while parents attended a biweekly ESL course, utilized Arabic fluency to effectively communicate with the young ones, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and respect for the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the children and their families. 2015-2018 Student Volunteer, Sparrow Hospital- Over 100 hours of volunteer hospital work ranging from clerical efforts to patient transport, promoted to student volunteer coordinator with responsibilities of interviewing applicants and training new volunteers.
