As the Compliance Officer/CDM I oversee the dietary department, EVS department, Central Supply and I am not only responsible for developing and educating on all policies within our facility, I consult and help implement in all of Axioms facilities as needed. I am responsible for helping the administrator build the budgets in these departments each year and ensuring that they are maintained. I have successfully met the goal each year and in most year came in under budget. 30 hours of my week is over seeing the dietary department, writing care plans, completing assessments, creating menus that meet and exceed CMS guidelines., oversee all special events. The dietary department is 75% restaurant style with plans to become 100% this year. During this time, I developed and implemented the PANDEMIC Infection Control Program which leads the team in 12 Infection control State Surveys with Zero deficiency. This resulted in AXIOM using this program throughout the company. My team and I had Zero deficiencies in both Dietary and Housekeeping 7 out of the 8 years, with the other year being 1 small tag.
I developed and implemented a BISTRO creating $1,500.00 worth of revenue each month. My team and I have revamped the entire Central Supply program creating savings and better care for the residents.
I direct the EVS manager in ensuring all CMS and Life Safety codes are met. Developing a Emergency Disaster manual in which has not only received zero deficiencies but has also but modeled during trainings statewide.
I oversee all contractors and work being performed within the facility. Also, physically remodeling facility as needed. Personally, tiling all for kitchens to create a more pleasant atmosphere for the residents. Axiom holds quarterly review meetings which I am a part of this financial team as well. Leader in the TELS program.
I am the 2021 recipient of the National Chad Bordwell Legacy Award. Although I do not have a Degree in finance, I have been doing fiscal accounting and budget control for 38 years, developing budgets, setting goals, increasing profits, implementing saving plans, implementing revenue plans and overseeing all ordering and budget control. As a Regional Compliance Officer/CDM I oversee the dietary department, EVS department. One of my main responsibilities was developing and educating on all policies throughout the company. Other responsibilities were to oversee 22 facilities here in Kansas and in Nebraska. Ensure all CMS and Life Safety codes were being followed. Inspect facilities monthly and report back to the COO.
