PMO Director and Program Manager responsible for all IT Projects and complete Business Transformation of the AMAs total Supply Chain and Order to Cash processes. Completed the roll-out of three major projects in Jan 2011 that required a complete business transformation in the way AMA previously did business. Retired the AS400 mainframe with a new Network/SAN system, replaced the AMA Membership System with an Association Membership System called Personify and replaced AMA’s Websites containing 1,000’s of webpages with a new website design and technology using the Sitefinity Web Content Management System.

Raised member retention 60% to 80% by implementing a Call Center and improving renewal reminder activities.

Successfully implemented over 80 Business and IT projects for the AMA, including Web based projects, Order to Cash projects, Point of Sale Project, software development projects, 3rd party system implementations, hardware projects, and supply chain projects from new Point of Sale system implementations to membership product shipping and deliveries.

Senior IT Consultant assigned to assist the Ohio OIT with improving their IT Governance and Project/Software Life Cycle methodology processes to improve their failing project delivery record. Role was to provide Process Improvement Assessments on how they could improve the way they did business across State Agencies, including IT Governance practices, Project and Software lifecycle processes and cross agency communications. Assessments were completed and many positive changes were made as a result. Senior Project Manager that worked on Cardinal Health’s $111 million Order to Cash (OTC) Supply Chain Program. I was the key resource that defined the OTC program by accumulating all the production stability issues and documenting all the recommended enhancements that have been pending and creating 25 projects that made up the initial program scope. Responsible for engaging internal resources to work on production stability issues, helped establish infrastructure capacity plans, grew the infrastructure as required to prepare for an enterprise-wide SAP implementation and to reduce lack of infrastructure redundancy. Program Manager responsible for a program consisting of several projects and a $10 million budget: the NATO Interactive Voice Response (IVR) project, AG & ALG Nuance IVR Tuning projects, NATO IVR Reporting project, AG Membership Application project, AG & ALG CTI Enabling project, Network Prompter Migration to the CVP Platform project and the VRU Hardware Shutdown and Retirement project. Also implemented four web-based projects using J2EE platform using Agile SDLC process to develop prototypes to allow for an interactive approach to design and construction. The web-based projects were Password Hashing, ID Secure, PC Safety Plus Canada, and New Datapass II. Team members located in Ohio, Trumbull CT, and off-shore QA resources from India.

International Program Manager, Tek Systems, Inc – Client: Pacer Global Logistics Feb 2005 – Feb 2006

Program Manager of an international program managing multiple projects with project teams located in Hamburg, Germany, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New Jersey – all project resources were remotely located. Provided Supply Chain Project Management services to retire a large Export and Clearing House Brokerage (CHB) system IES and Freight Forwarding system with an in-house built application created by our team in Hamburg, Germany. Before leaving Pacer, provided a strong business case to replace the unsupported Acuity Accounting system with either a supported upgrade or purchase of a 3rd party accounting system called Infinium.

PMO Manager, Sogeti, Inc – Client: Nationwide Insurance Co Apr 2004 – Feb 2005

Assisted in the creation of the project budget proposal packages for two of Nationwide’s projects and development of Nationwide’s first PMO Manual. These projects were multi-million-dollar mainframe and web enhanced projects that were put on hold, so I moved on to Pacer Global Logistics.

IT Supply Chain Manufacturing Manager, The Limited, Inc May 2000 – Dec 2003

IT Supply Chain Manager with 14 direct reports, leading a team of software developers engaged in multiple Supply Chain Development projects. Conducted and reported on feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and the establishment and implementation of application systems and programs. Worked to support and enhance production systems and a DB2 and TeraData database on an IBM mainframe.

Directed multi-million-dollar replacement of the Limited Express stores’ mainframe Allocation System with the UNIX legacy and new systems, using a 20-man Express and Oracle project team to create significant cost savings. The Arthur Allocation Arthur Allocation system. Project included multiple mainframe system enhancements, new interfaces between system required numerous modifications using an Oracle 11i database and was implemented using Oracle’s Application Integration Methodologies with very few problems and the cutover from mainframe to UNIX was seamless for the Express Allocation Division.

Performed IV&V evaluations on an Event Tracking system offered by Luen Thai. The system is a garment manufacturing event-tracking system written in Cold Fusion. Worked closely with Express Stores Manufacturing Business Division for requirements gathering and to ensure their needs were met by the product.

Managed Teradata Warehouse building and reporting projects where Teradata was populated by a DB2 database.

Increased productivity and efficiency for business partners by modifying all Victoria’s Secret related JCL to convert online report viewing from Beta93 to Control-D.

Participated in an elite group to improve production stability throughout the business application areas.

Managed the UPS Shipping Agreement project saving the business $800k annually and an additional $350k annually after implementing the shipping logic enhancements for Victoria’s Secret Catalog Distribution Center.

IT Director, Credit Bureau of Columbus Aug 1998 – May 2000

Director responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, and managing a new mainframe staff of programmer/ analysts to develop several new financial systems and maintain 8 operational systems in an IBM and AS400 environment with a VSAM database servicing 82 remote client sites.

Worked with project teams and customer support groups to develop IT solutions to problems and software enhancements to improve existing web-based products.

Personally, developed (coded) the TX Criminal Records system still being used by the Credit Bureau of Columbus as a major offering to employers seeking historical criminal background checks for potential employee hires.

Department Manager/Program Manager, Computer Sciences Corporation Jul 1989 – Aug 1998

Managed teams of up to 55 IT professionals, mentoring, hiring, and training with 13 direct reports. Participated and managed several Cost Plus, Time and Material and Fixed Priced software development military and DoD contracts for the Air Force, DLA, Marine Corps and Army. Most of the 9+ years with CSC was spent in managerial positions within Test Integration and the Air Force PMO.

IT Manager for a Government Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) study that won a deal to replace their SAMS Asset Management system with CSC’s Stock Control and Distribution system.

IT Manager on the Asset Management Standard System (MMSS) project. This application suite was later used by the Marine Corps and Air Force during Operation Desert Storm. Received formal letters of thanks from Marine Corps and Air Force personnel.

IV&V Manager on a 2 year Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) project overseeing the Atlantic Research Corporation’s (ARC) IPMIS (management information system) project working directly for the Air Force PMO. Led all testing and validation efforts for CSC’s first IV&V project overseeing the ARC IPMIS development project, working directly with ARC management, the Air Force PMO, and CSC’s Vice President. This highly successful IV&V project preceded CSC’s acquisition of ARC.

Trained numerous Air Force personnel on the SC&D Asset Management System and its continued enhancements for 5 years as part of my responsibilities as Project Manager.
