Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910 I was a Registered Nurse who was part of an interdisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social workers, School Teachers, Mental Health Techs, and other nurses. I took care of teens and children with behavioral disorders, psychiatric disorders, truancy, and other gang or drug related problems. I provided direct care through individual and group counseling. I implemented specific medical or psychiatric treatment procedures and behavioral therapy program approaches. I was responsible for writing, evaluating, and revising nursing care treatment pans for individual patients. I was responsible for keeping the environment safe and keeping the milieu calm. I also administered prescribed medications, led some activities on the unit, provided 1:1 communication and teaching as needed. In emergency situations, I needed to care for resident's medical needs, as well as their safety needs.
