S. Jerome Addison is Founder, Executive Director of Tools for Success, LLC. Tools for Success, LLC offers a broad range of programs and services, primarily to those in the human service industry, including education, mental health, juvenile justice/public safety, medical, faith-based, and more. For 18 years Mr. Addison worked for the University of Medicine of Dentistry of New Jersey, ending his tenure serving as Program Development Specialist and Training Coordinator for the Office of Prevention Services & Research/Center for Healthy Schools, Families, and Communities of UMDNJ-UBHC. In that capacity Mr. Addison served as the program coordinator for a National Institutes of Health sponsored Violence Prevention Initiative involving urban high schools within New Jersey, as well as the training coordinator for SANKOFA: A Life Skills and Violence Prevention Program, developed by OPSR/CHSFC. Mr. Addison, who served as part of the development team for SANKOFA, is also a Master Trainer for the SANKOFA Group Facilitator Trainer Course, wherein professionals are trained as SANKOFA Group Facilitators. Additionally, Mr. Addison develops custom-tailored training courses, provides training, program development, professional development, and consultation in areas ranging from Youth violence prevention, mediation, conflict resolution, bullying, anger & stress management, decision making, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, racial literacy, and creating culturally responsive classrooms. Mr. Addison’s experience includes working with educational systems nationally and internationally, the Department of Correctional Education of Virginia, the Department of Health & Senior Services, and the Juvenile Justice Commission, both of New Jersey, and faith-based as well as community-based organizations. Mr. Addison trains professionals, parents, and youths. Mr. Addison also provides behavioral health awareness workshops/trainings to corporate, finance, government, and private industries. Related clients include Proctor & Gamble, Ernst and Young (EY), New York University: Langone Health, Bank of America, Prudential, the New York Mets, FDIC, Bloomberg, and a two-year service agreement with Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) to provide professional development training on the topics of EAP for Supervisors, Depression Awareness, and Suicide Awareness. Similarly, Mr. Addison is contracted with Effective School Solutions to provide behavioral health professional development trainings and workshops to school districts in the states of New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. He also serves as the Director of Training for JECA Clinical Services, a private mental health organization specializing in mental health supervision, family therapy, and professional staff training/development. Further, Mr. Addison served as the Youth Clinical Case Manager of Middlesex County: in that capacity providing disposition planning, systems linkage & negotiation, advocacy, interim & emergency counseling, and traditional as well as non-traditional case management services to Middlesex County youths (and their families) post- discharge from the various inpatient services of UMDNJ. Mr. Addison served on the DYFS Residential Review Committee, The Middlesex County Special Planning and Resource Committee (the forerunner of the CART), as well as the Middlesex County CART.
