COVER LETTER
I have extensive and long background in practice management, medical billing, operations, electronic health records, MIPS, MACRA, CPC+, credentialing and insurance contracting. I possess excellent customer service, computer, billing, management and communication skills.
Over the past 24 years, I have gained experience and extensive knowledge of operations and management in the medical outpatient community. I started my career as a business office representative simply answering phones, maintaining books for our accountants and posting payments to patient accounts from insurance companies and patients. I then worked my way through all aspects of the billing department including maintaining and collecting on patient accounts, commercial billing, workers compensation, no-fault and Medicare billing. I would then become a full charge Medicare biller and maintain the fee schedules for a large multi-site, multi-specialty practice. This provided me to opportunities in working with providers on how to code for billing. As the specialty practices grew, I helped the providers develop and maintain their inpatient billing procedures. I then took on billing for all of the specialties; working very closely with all of the specialists to maintain accurate and clean billing for their work. When an opportunity arose to run my own practice, I jumped at the chance. I successfully run a very busy private family practice with over 5,000 active patients. Under private practice, I also ran all billing operations while supervising and maintaining staff, provider profiles, credentialing, insurance contracting, coordinating Comprehensive Primary Care plus and maintaining an active Patient and Family Advisory Council. New Windsor Family Medicine was and continues to be, now under the Westchester Medical Center Advanced Physician Services leadership, a leader in health management and respected practice in the community. I have successfully led my practice through three Electronic Health Record transitions over the last five years. More recently, I have been honing in my skills with payer contracting, contract negotiations; including value based contracts.
I have strong background and extensive experience in Revenue Cycle Management and outpatient medical billing including Medicare and commercial carriers, no fault and workers compensation. Contract negotiations and contract maintenance. Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point. I have 15 years experience in Practice Management in a successful and highly respected three provider private practice. I possess excellent communication and presentation skills and maintain calm during stressful situations. I am a self-starter and strong leader.
