Witch, and The Wardrobe. The students worked in cooperative groups for most of the lessons,
especially art and reading. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is a unit what I wrote to help
improve the reading and comprehension skills of all of my students. Evaluations about both the
reading assignment and the class discussions were made each day; it consisted of questions about
what was read and what the students thought would happen next.

I used a variety of teaching methods, including group work in science with kits that were provided by
my college. The students did an entire unit on space, and they were able to learn how to shoot off
rockets propelled by water at school. Other activities were making plunks (creatures made from rocks)
and creating a solar system. Making twins for parent-teacher conferences at the beginning of the year
was the best art project that we made during the year.

I substituted in many school districts, mainly Litchfield, Livingston, and Mt. Olive, Illinois. While
substitute teaching, I enjoyed being in each grade, Pre-K to 12th grade, but I learned the duties of the
librarian and of the music teacher, also. In art, I had the students working with water colors, chalk,
and paints to finish the assignments.
